"Right." Rory laughed a little. "I think my powers are triggered by people. The more people around, the more powerful they seem to get."

"Why?" He rasped an immediately began a coughing fit. He shouldn't have talked.

Rory put a hand on Darren's shoulder, trying to steady him. "Whoa dude. Don't strain yourself."

Darren waved his hand dismissively insisting he was okay without words. He would be okay.

Lillian nuzzled against Darren's neck. She wanted to comfort him even in sleep.

Darren sighed and moved closer to her, he appreciated all his friends trying to help him.

Rory sighed. "I honestly don't know why. I have one idea and it's ridiculous."

Darren motioned his hand in the air as if to say 'continue'.

"Okay, maybe I draw my power from other people." Rory sighed.

Darren's face lit up as he groped around the bed for the book. He wrote, 'Like an empath?'

Darren nodded, 'Not ridiculous' he wrote with a yawn.

Rory smiled softly. "You really should sleep Darren."

Darren's eyes grew wide as he shook his head, "N-No," He wheezed.

Lillian snored softly against Darren.
