"Yeah." Rory nodded. "Darren, I've finally found out what triggers my powers!"
"Yeah." Rory nodded. "Darren, I've finally found out what triggers my powers!"
Darren picked up his eyebrow in curiosity, he wanted to know.
Lillian looked at him then Darren, "Seriously. Another powered person?"
Darren nodded and shrugged.
"So I was staring at the mirror the other day, right? And I was contemplating my routine, thinking about how there was a big convention thing, and then my dad walked in and the vase suddenly fell over! It's other people Darren!"
Other people? Why? Darren smiled and nodded. He pointed to the pad of paper on his bed side.
Lillian handed him the pad and a pen.
(I gtg for a bit sorryyyyyy)
Darren took the paper and set it in his lap, just in case. He continued to pull with weak force on Lillian's hand as he looked up at her.
Lillian laughed slightly. She moved closer to him, "Do you want me to lay with you?"
Darren nodded quickly and moved over as far as he could to make room for her.
Lillian chuckled as she laid down next to him, "Better?"
Darren leaned into her and picked up the notebook, "Much," He wrote in handwriting that was sloppy compared to his usual neatness.
Lillian kissed his cheek, "Glad I could help you out then."
“I love you,” He tried to steady his tremors as he wrote.
Lillian gave him a soft smile, "I love you too."
(Yeet)
Darren put his head on her shoulder as he drew small patterns and hearts across the page with the occasional jerk in the lines from his tremor.
Lillian leaned against him slightly and watched as he drew. She was just glad he lived.
Suddenly the patterns turned into him writing again, "Did I scare you?"
Lillian let out a slight breath, "Yeah, just a little bit. Your heart stopped for a moment, how could I not be scared?"
The pen hesitated on the paper before asking, "I died?"
Lillian nodded quickly, "Um yeah. Like I said, for a moment it did."
Darren's face looked upset like it was his fault, "I'm sorry. Was it from the extubation,"
Lillian looked to him, "It's fine. I think so. After the tube came out, you slowly just sort of, um, stopped?"
Darren sighed, "Oh," His voice crackled.
Lillian lifted a hand to his face, "No it's fine."
Darren nodded, his eyes blinked slow and heavy as he yawned. Immediately after the yawn he gasped for the air he was short of.
Lillian rubbed his back with her other hand, "You okay buddy?"
"Mmm," He coughed, "Mmhhmm," he threw himself into another coughing fit. The nurse did say the unnecessary breathing machine would do damage. He picked the pen up, "I'm afraid to sleep," He wrote.
