M twitched as if he was trying to move, groaned again and relaxed, barely. "Are you sure you don't have anything else to do? It's stupid trying to worry about an old man."
Yeah, like you had it coming, M.
M twitched as if he was trying to move, groaned again and relaxed, barely. "Are you sure you don't have anything else to do? It's stupid trying to worry about an old man."
Yeah, like you had it coming, M.
"No, no just try to sleep please." She said quietly, closing her eyes.
M sighed gently through his nose and set his head down. "You try to get some sleep too."
North mumbled a quiet yes and fell asleep quickly.
It was the next morning. The birds of M's dimension twweeeeted like the little fake atrocities they are, and in the distance one could here geese honking at one another. M woke up first because of pain in his chest, but it wasn't nearly as bad, thanks to the small red vile and North's quick action.
North woke to the sound of birds and looked up at M, but it wasn't M. "Tyler?!" She gasped, jumping off of the bed. She suddenly felt herself falling. Images of Tyler flashed through her mind as she fell, faster, faster. The last day she saw him, his face streaked with tears. North's eyes opened to see her hand clenched tightly around M's shirt. The spot where her head was laying was wet with tears.
M looked sharply concerned. "Who's Tyler?" He propped himself up on his elbow to get a better look at her.
"My best friend.." She said softly, brushing her hair off her face.
He grabbed her shoulder and used her to sit up. He grinned at her. "What happened to him? You don't need to tell me if you don't want to." His hand suddenly jerked off of her shoulder, and he suddenly looked more reserved. "Sorry." He murmured.
"No it's ok. I've known Tyler all my life, he's been there for me through..everything. Then the day before I met you he told me he loved me and I..I..told him that I didn't like him like that but I would think about it. And now i'm here, and he probably thinks I left him." She ended her sentence with a sob and covered her face with her hands.
(oh my god oof unrequited love back at it again but in different people)
A look of brief shock fluttered over M's face, but he pushed it off, and hugged her. "It's okay. I'm sure he's alright." He said the only soothing words he could think of.
(Oh yeah she's 17 you had to expect it)
North took a deep breath and wiped her eyes with her sleeve. "I know, I shouldn't worry. How's your chest?" She asked.
M winced as pain flew through it. "It's better. But, you'll meet someone else, eventually." He grinned. "He'll understand, and if he doesn't I'm sure he'll still be close to you."
North laughed sadly, "Yeah, right. Cause there are so many people to meet here." She said looking up at the window.
M rolled his eyes. "Just because I'm old doesn't mean I'm crazy." He pressed down on her shoulder and stood up.
North looked up at him confused. "What do you mean?" She asked getting up off the bed.
He limped across the room, his body not quite strong enough to allow him to do so quickly. "I think I found out a way to get out of the Dimension, but only one of us can. If someone were to escape here without Neo's consent, it'd collapse. But I still have to figure out, if I must, a way to get us both out, if you want to stay with me."
"Yeah I do want to stay with you. That's great, thank you M." She said happily. (North could convince Neo to send her back then M could leave by himself but whatever you want)
("Meeeehhhh let's make it difficult on M," Neo purred.)
M grinned at her. "You're very welcome. But as I figure out how to do so, we're stuck here. Would you like breakfast?"
(lol ok)
"Yeah i'm starving but first wash the all the blood off of you please." She said walking down to what she assumed was the kitchen.
"You're gonna make me walk back up the steps? Are you kidding me? This stuff isn't Wonder Water! It's a slow-time potion that wards off infection and helps with trauma! I'll wash my hands, it's the best you'll get."
"Ugh fine." North said laughing. "I was the one who carried you all the way over here and saved your life but okay.."
"Yeah, and I'm the one who's in agony," M said seriously, but the corners of his mouth were twitching. "So if you want breakfast you'll stop bellyaching and sit down."
North smirked at him and sat down at a long table, watching M.
M washed his hands and set out some pans, and pulled out ingredients. He began cooking, and a half-an-hour later he sat the pancakes, bacon, fried egg, and home-style potatoes down on the table. He set a plate down in front of her, and put down some ketchup and syrup, then, finally, sitting down heavily into a chair at the table, with a brief heavy sigh.
"Oh my god thank you. I don't eat a lot but this looks great." She said taking some food and putting it on her plate.
M waved his hand. "It's no problem, you're giving me something to do with myself rather than being engrossed in a book or feeling bad for myself."
"I know," She said eating most of the food on her plate, "you don't have to tell me i'm great."
M chuckled gently and leaned back. "Yes, so great." He sounded like he meant it.
North finished eating and set her head on her knee. She felt a rush of affection for M as she looked at him. (not in that way goodness)
