Ginger felt bile in the back of her throat and weakly looked down at her sweatshirt's right pocket.
Ginger felt bile in the back of her throat and weakly looked down at her sweatshirt's right pocket.
Rachel looked to the pocket and reached in. She pulled out ginger's phone, "Ah Hah!"
Ginger flinched again and felt the silent tears drip down her cheeks.
Rachel was grinning as she turned the phone on.
(Passcode or no?)
(I have returned)
(Hi!)
(Hey!)
(Yes)
The lock screen was a picture of Ginger, laughing with two other girls. One was Chinese and had long black hair with the tips dyed bright blue and the other was a strawberry blonde girl with freckles dusting her nose. All three girls had their arms wrapped around each other and were smiling.
Rachel turned the phone to face Ginger, "Old friends bitch?"
Ginger looked away. The last thing that she needed to be reminded about now was Lianna and Harper.
Rachel snickered and attempted to open the phone, "Oh fuck. There's a passcode."
Ginger closed her eyes. Miranda walked over. "Let me see."
Rachel handed Miranda the phone, "Try your best."
Miranda looked at Ginger and smirked. "Knowing people has its perks." Ginger jerked her head up and opened her eyes, displaying panic. Miranda snickered and typed the numbers. The phone opened to a home screen collage of Ginger with her friends, her family, singing, dancing, etc; Miranda handed the device back to Rachel.
Lillian's cell phone rang abruptly.
(Miranda did not call her, btw.)
(So Rachel did?)
(No. You'll see.)
(…Okay)
Lillian looked to the boys and then walked out of the room. She picked up, "Um hello?"
"Is this Lillian? Ginger's friend?" The voice on the other line was female, but a man was taking in the background.
"Yes," Lillian nodded, "Yes this is she."
(Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh)
"Oh my gosh. Thank goodness. Ginger isn't still with you is she?"
"What do you mean, you can't -" the man demanded, muffled.
Lillian thought for a second, "No I don't think so. She went home last night."
"Justin! She's not there!" The woman's voice had risen quickly to a panic.
Lillian was walking down the stairs. She threw a jacket on and laced up her shoes, "Ummm, can I ask if your her parents?"
"Oh, sorry dear. Yes. My name is Holly. My husband, Justin, is on the phone with the police department. Ginger never came home last night. "
Lillian muttered a string of curse words ended with, "Rachel."
Holly was speechless for a moment before asked, "Who is Rachel?"
Lillian let out a long sigh, "I'll handle this Misses Holly. You'll get your daughter back soon."
"Shouldn't this be a job for the authorties?" Holly asked frantically.
Leo looked at him, "Ever take any painkillers for them? Do you ever get lazy eyes?"
"I don't think I get lazy eyes but sometimes I smoke weed and that numbs the pain for a day or two," Darren laughed nervously.
