"Nah dont worry about it." Jordan waves Connor's remark off and lurches off the counter, "Lead the way."
"Nah dont worry about it." Jordan waves Connor's remark off and lurches off the counter, "Lead the way."
Connor walked out through the sliding door and out to the backyard. There was an enormous willow tree in the center, with what appeared to be the front half of a subway train lodged in its branches. Connor grinned, turning to Jordan. "Pretty cool, huh?"
"Woah…" Jordan walks up to it
"Yep. It's from my dad's debut battle," Connor said with a grin. They walked towards the ladder hanging from the open end of the train. "This is my grandparents' place, and my dad's first battle was taking down a villain with a supersizing quirk."
"Wow… Cool!" Jordan stands at the bottom of the ladder, looking up at the opening
"Come on!" Connor says excitedly. They don't even bother using the ladder, they just extend their arms to grab onto the opening in the train before hoisting themself up
Jordan climbs up the ladder as quick as he could. He steps up into the tree-house and looks around
The treehouse was actually rather nice considering it was really just the front half of a train. Connor walked towards the front, where an old box TV and a few video games were scattered around
Jordan followed Connor, looking around as he goes
Connor glanced out one of the broken windows. Huh. How did night come so quickly? "Well, this is it," they said, gesturing to the area around them. "It's sort of my favorite place at the house."
"It is amazing!" He sits down infront of the TV
"You think?" Connor asks with a small laugh. They sit down next to Jordan on one of the beanbags. The walls above the TV were plastered with posters, mostly of a grinning man with large horns and metal armor. They were titled "Guardian," and they appeared almost everywhere
Jordan sighs, "Who's the guy? In the posters?"
Connor looked up at them. "Oh, those? That's my dad. Kinda hard to tell since he's in a wheelchair now, but that used to be him," they responded, a small smile creeping across their face
"Um… What happened?" Jordan looks over at him then over his shoulder through the window at his house
"Well, it's kind of a long story," Connor began. "But my dad was out on a job. Routine robbery, you know? But then when he was in the middle of grabbing some guy and his quirk was on cooldown, my mom showed up. She used to be a former villain, and had lived with us for years. But apparently when she went to 'work' she was actually going on small robberies and stuff without us knowing. And when she saw my dad, she just…mangled his legs."
"Oh wow… SOrry I dont know what to say."
"No, no, it's fine. My mom was a bitch and I was kinda hoping she would do something that would make my dad kick her out or whatever," Connor said with a shrug. "But hey, it could have been worse. I could be an orphan or something."
Jordan puts a hand on Connor's shoulder
Connor smiles a little at that. "It's kinda why I wanna be a hero, actually. To prove my family isn't a bunch of screwups and busted heroes. But I've done…basically everything wrong so far," they said with a small laugh
"Alright. Dude. You did nothing wrong. You got in the top ten. I was nearly ranked 20th." Jordan sighs
Inima landed on a rooftop rolling to lose her momentum easily. She looked around, man the city was quiet tonight. She had checked all the usual places to find them all quite peaceful. She sat on the roof with her feet swinging off the side.
"Yeah, but you don't know what I did before UA," Connor mumbled. "I got called the next top villain. Everyone made fun of me, told me I should just join the League of Villains now."
"What?!" Jordan starts and scoots to the side a little ways
"And that's what everyone does when I mention it," Connor muttered before wrapping their arms around their knees. "Don't worry, it's not like I did it on purpose. It was my damn quirk's fault."
Jordan didnt know what to do. He felt like some how comforting his new friend but also didnt know if he wanted his space. In the end her stood up and looked around. He found a blanket and throws it over Connor's shoulders and head
Connor laughed a little as the blanket fell onto their face, and they tugged it off so they could see. "Well. That's a new one," they chuckled
"No." Jordan takes it back and throws it over Connor again like a hood
"What are you doing?" Connor laughs, a wide grin on their face as they adjust the blanket so they can see without taking it off
"Shh… It's ok." Jordan jokes patting the top of Connors head with a laugh
