(Hallo.)
Winter was almost there… She heard a trooper say, "She's over there!" Winter was close but not there yet… She had a chance, but it was fading. She dropped her head, and charged forward. Elias looked at Kula. "Hey, you ok? If you need me to help you along, just ask…"
Estelle felt every muscle in her body tense. Someone was coming up behind her. She saw Winter sprinting towards her and her heart throbbed. The blaster. The blaster. No. She remembered what Winter had said. Something about controlling water. But where was the water to control? She had been thinking for too long. Someone slammed into her roughly from behind.
"I'm fine," Kula said aloud. It was a mistake. Her voice was weak and shaky.
Winter looked up, sweat was running down her face. She saw a trooper slam Estelle to the ground. Winter let a blue light envelope her. She charged forward. She jumped over the trooper who slammed Estelle to the ground. She turned on a dime and stabbed her weapon through him. Winter was wheezing. "Are you ok Estelle? Can you fight… I need back up. I'm exhausted. I can fight for a little while longer. But not long…" Elias nodded. He heard the pain in Kula's voice. He stepped forward. "Alright Kula, lead the way…"
Kula nodded and headed towards the wookie barracks. She was clutching her shoulder and keeping her screams silent. All of her thoughts were worries about. Shiloh.
"I'm fine," Estelle's voice was faint. "Of I had just never gone in their study and seen…" She trailed off fearfully and readied her blaster.
Winter nodded. She knew her strokes were slowing. She was weakening. "Estelle, what did you see? I need to know. I need to stop it…" Winter fell to her knees. She was exhausted. Still, she fought. She got back on her feet, and using the last of her energy, willed the air in front of her to freeze. All of the blasters in front of her stopped working. The troopers, froze up because of the temperature difference. Winter sank to her knees, and looked up at the stars, and then, she fell back on her back, looking up. She was so tired… Elias was following Kula. She had taken him to the barracks, and now he was standing in front of the large, incredibly thick wooden door that blocked the entrance. Elias laughed. "Wood door. This is a party trick I used to do. Watch…" He placed his hand on the door, and dropped the temperature of the door, making sure ice got into the grain of the door. Suddenly, the door looked like it was swelling. "Kula, turn your head…" Elias ducked his head and covered his face. Then, the door exploded in a shower of wood chips. Elias smiled. "That was the equilivent of Hothian fireworks…" Elias looked into the wookie barracks. It was filthy…
"Winter? Winter?" Estelle crawled over to Winter quickly. "Winter??"
A huge wookie covered in fur so dark brown that it looked black lunged out of the doorway and slammed into Elias.
"No! Ravion, don't. This is a friend of mine! He is a Hothian and he is here to free you and your people." Kula spoke quickly in wookie.
The wookie looked up at her and got reluctantly off of Elias. "Are you sure?"
Kula nodded and looked at Elias. "He saved my life."
Winter opened her eyes. "Yeah, yeah… I'm totally fine…" She sat up in a daze. "Whoa. I haven't fought like that in a long time… Guess I'm out of practice… I'm just so tired…" Elias got up off of the ground. "Ice armor, is useless against a body slam, by a wookie… I'm pretty sure I don't have a rib cage anymore…" He rubbed his ribs, which was hard to do because of his armor. "Correction. Winter saved your life, I just killed the guy who wanted to take it. Anyway… WHO WANTS TO BE FREE?"
"Winter, I-"
"If you stop talking now, I may decide to spare your life." The cool metal of a blaster dug into the back of Estelle's skull. "Come on, stand up," her take mother's cruel voice ordered.
Kula rolled her eyes. Several other wookie had come out, teeth bares at the sound of Elias's yell. "Don't tell at them. They… They aren't used to a good kind of yelling," Kula said sadly. She turned to the wookies. "We have come to free you and help you escape. But we also need your strength and numbers. Will you help us?" The wookies all let up a battle cry, confirming their alliance. "I'm assuming that means yes," Kula grinned.
Elias smiled. "Tell them I'm sorry for yelling. And tell them what I need them to do. And while were at it, let's just free everybody else. This is a Rebellion isn't it? Let's rebel!" It was as if someone had poured acid down Winter's back. She went rigid. She shakily stood and faced Estelle's not mother. "You. You took her from me once, a long time ago, I won't let that happen again. You've known all along that taking her was the biggest mistake you've ever made. You were sent to take the heir, the young girl that was the daughter, but failed. You took her best friend, who played for her. You took Estelle, and not me. I was the one you wanted, all those years ago. I'm here now, and to take me, or her, you'll have to fight for us. All your troopers are dead. The rest, are locked up. No one in, no one out. One against two…" Winter lunged forward and grabbed Estelle's not mother's wrist, and pointed the blaster down to the ground. Winter was locked into a struggle. She was fighting for the control of the blaster. Estelle's not mother grabbed her other wrist, and Winter was fighting once again…
Admiral Aquare strained to free the blaster from Winter's grip. She was loosing the fight. Then, for a split second, Winter's grip faltered. Aquare took advantage and yanked the gun away. She grabbed Estelle from the ground and smoothly put her into a choke hold with one arm, the other holding the blaster steadily to Estelle's head. "One wrong move, and your little Estelle is done for."
Estelle gasped for breath. "Winter… Finish it… Now…"
Kula took a deep breath and began explaining eveythjng. By the end, the wookies were looking at Elias for leadership. Ravion said something.
"They're in," Kula translated with a smile.
Winter turned away. She knew what she had to do, but it would leave her the target… She whispered, “Elias forgive me…” Winter transferred her armor to Estelle knowing it would only cover her for a few moments before coming back to her. As it covered Estelle, Winter grabbed the blaster from Admiral Equare, and turned on her, but not without consequence… Winter was grazed in the side, and she fell to the ground in searing pain. She whispered to Estelle. “Here, take it. You finish it. I’m fine.” Winter’s armor came back to her. She just let it dissolve. Meanwhile, Elias led the wookies back over to where Shiloh was kept…
(Where did I leave Essar? I've been busy and haven't had the chance to get him up to date)
(He’s still on the hill…)
Aquare smirked. "Pitiful. I allowed you to survive back on Hoth for this?"
Estelle stared at Winter. Her eyes were so full of tears that she could barely see.
Kula's eyes narrowed as the group came over a hilltop. "Is that…"
Elias looked at the hill. Who was that? His eyes hadn't adjusted, so whoever was over the hill was nothing but a blur. Winter got up. Her side was on fire. "You left me on Hoth because I was your biggest failure. You took the wrong person. You torched the place because you were scared that if I lived, you would one day find me again, and I would avenge my people. I'm not dead, I'm far from it. If you wanted to wipe me out, you should have done it 6 years ago. I still have the blaster, I could end you right now. But I need some information. What are you doing here on this asteroid? And, why is it such a big secret?" Winter spat. She hated this woman with a passion…
"Winter!" Kula took off in a sprint. She knew that Elias would defiantly catch up, but, as Elias said, Winter had saved her life. She couldn't see if Winter was in trouble, but there was an Imperial and that's all the Twi'lek needed to know.
Aquare held Estelle in a choke hold and steadily tightened her grip, without Winter noticing. "I'm glad that you're so intrigued by my work. If only everyone were like you. Soon enough, though," Aquare sighed coolly.
Estelle could feel the hold tighening… tightening. She wanted to let Winter know, but she didn't know if something would happen to her. And she knew that Winter had to make it out alive, not her. She didn't matter - she had nothing to live for. Winter, on the other hand, had Elias and everyone else on the ship. Estelle's gaze just happened to notice the young Twi'lek running towards them before Aquare tightened the hold again and Estelle lost consciousness.
Elias' vision cleared. He saw Winter on the hill, without her armor. He knew something was wrong. She was leaned to one side, and she held a blaster. He whispered, "Oh no, Winter…" and he ran as fast as he could toward that hill. Winter grip tightened on the blaster. Suddenly, Estelle went limp. She had lost consciousness. Winter held the blaster up, and without thinking, pulled the trigger. She hit Admiral Aquare in the shoulder, and she stumbled away from Estelle…
Aquare screamed and gripped her shoulder. Estelle slipped from her grasp and tumbled like a rag doll onto the asteroid's hard surface. Aquare scowled and lunged at Winter, her hands outstretched and reaching for the blaster. Suddenly something slammed into her side.
Kula tackled the Imperial and threw her into the ground. Without thinking, in one swift movement, she grabbed the blaster from Winter's hands and aimed it steadily at the Imperial's skull. She was breathing heavily. "Winter saved my life. It's time I repaid her."
Aquare only laughed, grimacing slightly from the pain in her shoulder. "And if you kill me?"
Kula was seething. "So what?"
"If you kill me," Aquare said too calmly, "your dead sister dies too. Instantly." Aquare snapped her fingers. "Just like that."
Kula's elbows instantly bent and she felt a shiver run through her veins. "Shiloh… No…" Her arms stiffened again. "You wouldn't."
"Oh, honey, try me. You, you specifically, have seen what I can do."
Images unseen by the others flashed rapid fire through Kula's mind. She softened, but her expression was still hard. "We can't… We can't kill her," she sighed to Winter.
Elias saw Kula take the blaster away from Admiral Aquare. He ran over to Winter. "Are you ok? Do you need me to carry you? Do you need me to help you? Is there anything that I can do to help you?" Winter just slowly blinked her eyes. "Elias. I'm fine. I'll walk it off…" Winter heard what Kula said. She looked away. She muttered to Elias, "Go. Free Shiloh. I can buy a few more minutes. Free Sholih before I kill this Imperial myself…" Elias turned away, hearing the pain in Winter's voice. He knew she was hurting. He knew. But, Winter hated showing weakness. He turned, but he grabbed Winter's hand, and pulled her close. He murmured into her hair, "You're hurt. Badly. I can see it as plain as day. You only get 10 minutes. Anymore, I'm coming. The wookies can free Shiloh easily enough…" He let her go and jogged back down there to the wookies. He only hoped he knew enough Sherriwook, to understand them… Winter turned sharply on her heels. "Kula, what do you mean we can't kill her yet?"
Kula lowered the blaster, tears in her eyes. She hadn't seen Elias leave. "She'll… kill… Shiloh."
Aquare slyly pressed a button in her com link. It flashed green twice, then stopped.
The smirk that played across her face made Kula fear for the worst. "What did you just do?" Kula asked quickly, raising the blaster again.
No one beside Winter saw Elias leave. He was like a fleeting shadow. He had taken the wookies to break down the door to get to Shiloh. Winter sighed. "I got 10 minutes to kill…" she thought. Time for a distraction. She looked at Admiral Aquare. "What was that green button for? Please do tell. Since we can't kill you, I guess you'll just have to talk… Please do tell. We're all ears…" Winter whispered. Leaning in, she made sure to grow cold, so the air froze around her palm as she touched Admiral Aquare's face. "I can play this game of torture. I played it by myself for 6 years… I think I can outlast anyone in it. So please spill everything you know before, well you know, I get icy… Because it won't be pleasant, for you…" Elias had arrived at the door. He tried his best to tell the wookies what they had to do. They seemed to understand, and they started breaking down the door…
(Lavender, Essar is still on the hill. Jic… ;)
