Lillian smiled to her, “Yessss.”
Ginger smiled shyly. "Thank you."
Lillian smiled to her, “Yessss.”
Ginger smiled shyly. "Thank you."
Lillian smile grew brighter, "Your welcome."
"I love singing. But… I don't do it. 99% of the time. Because…" She remembered Rachel and Miranda earlier and her lip quivered. She sighed shakily. "I just don't."
Lillian let out a sigh as her smile turned kind, "Well feel free to sing with me whenever you want too."
"What songs do you know?" Ginger asked excitedly.
"Um a lot," Lillian said, "What about you?"
"Oh, I listen to everything," Ginger replied.
Lillian looked at her, "Panic! at the Disco?"
"I've heard of them, and I know some of their music, but I don't listen to them a lot. What songs do you like?" Ginger asked.
Lillian shrugged as she thought, "Anything really. Oooo! Especially Imagine Dragons."
"Oh, I love Imagine Dragons!" Ginger enthused.
"Really? Favorite song by them."
"Three- No. Four way tie. Thunder, Demons, Believer, Radioactive. You?"
She laughed, "Six way tie, "Thunder, Demons, Believer, Whatever it Takes, Radioactive, and It's Time."
Ginger smiled. She closed her eyes and her eyelids flickered as she began singing softly. "When the days are cold and the cards all fold and the saints we see are all made of gold; When your dreams all fail and the ones we hail are the worst of all and the blood’s run stale… I wanna hide the truth I wanna shelter you but with the beast inside there's nowhere we can hide; No matter what we breed we still are made of greed; This is my kingdom come this is my kingdom come…" She had been going into a steady crescendo and hit the chorus full force, but somehow still soft. "When you feel my heat, look into my eyes; It’s where my demons hide, it’s where my demons hide; Don’t get too close, it’s dark inside; It’s where my demons hide, it’s where my demons hide…" She trailed off and opened her eyes, smiling shyly at Lillian.
Lillian picked up singing at a slightly louder volume, "When the curtain’s call is the last of all when the lights fade out all the sinners crawl; So they dug your grave and the masquerade will come calling out at the mess you made," her voice started to gain intensity, "Don’t want to let you down but I am hell bound though this is all for you don’t want to hide the truth; No matter what we breed we still are made of greed this is my kingdom come this is my kingdom come," she held back from singing out at full voice as she sang, "When you feel my heat look into my eyes it’s where my demons hide it’s where my demons hide don’t get too close it’s dark inside it’s where my demons hide it’s where my demons hide…" She looked to Ginger with a smile.
Ginger picked up again, half closing her eyes. "They say it's what you make, I say it's up to fate; It's woven in my soul, I need to let you go; Your eyes, they shine so bright, I want to save their light…" She faltered for a second, her voice wavering before returning to it's melodic structure. "I can't escape this now, unless you show me how…"
Together, they sang the final verse, Lillian sticking to the notes, and Ginger ad libbing and harmonizing beautifully as she had done before. "When you feel my heat, look into my eyes; It’s where my demons hide, it’s where my demons hide; Don’t get too close, it’s dark inside; It’s where my demons hide, it’s where my demons hide."
Ginger smiled hoping that Lillian didn't notice the mess up or so about it. (She did. She does. Please.)
Lillian smiled had faltered as Ginger messed up the tones. She asked when they were done, "Are you okay? You wavered for a second there."
Ginger nodded and quickly looked down. "Yeah, that line has… a past for me, I guess."
Lillian took a deep breath, "Yeah. I know what you mean."
Ginger picked her gaze up. "What do you mean?"
"Like a line, or a song, just becomes hard for you," Lillian looked away, "Because it reminds you of something you had, or what your life could have been."
"Yeah. I get that. That's why I… don't sing."
Lillian sighed as she looked at her, "You should though. Your voice is beautiful."
Ginger fingered her throat, finding herself lingered at the dark mark.

Lillian let out a small sigh. She looked down and away.
