Leo started to walk around, "And what if you don't. I know the possibilities and they are way to fucking high for my liking."
Leo started to walk around, "And what if you don't. I know the possibilities and they are way to fucking high for my liking."
"You should understand this better than anyone. I want her to move on if I don't wake up. I'll be brain damaged if I wake up from the coma anyways and if I don't? She waited for me? Wasted her life?"
Lillian started to hum a tune. Something light, up beat, with just a hint of melancholy.
Ginger perfect harmonized every note. She never EVER sang in front of anyone before, but she was extremely good.
Leo raised his hands, "She wouldn't move on. She wouldn't be able to. That's how she is. If she let's someone in, and she loses them, it fucking breaks her. When Rachel," he took a shaky breath, "When Rachel started to bully Lillian. She came home every day crying. No matter what I tried, she wouldn't eat, drink, or sleep. Lillian was a shell that put on an act. I know it's going to be exactly like that if you die. Her life will be 'wasted' anyways."
Lillian smiled brightly at Ginger as she kept humming. She was really good.
"Leo, that doesn't help. The surgery alone could kill me. I'm not worth that, she needs to find someone else if I die,"
Leo felt his voice raise, "And that's the problem! She won't! Not if she loses you like that!"
Darren winced, "I know!" he yelled back, "I don't know what to do. If I die so will she and I can't handle that," His yelling turned into tears falling down his cheek, "I'm going to die and she needs to be okay, you need to help her,"
Leo looked down ashamed. He forgot this was something Darren was dealing with too. He said quietly, âIâll try my best.â
Darren wiped his cheeks, why was he so weak? "Look, I need her to be okay even if I'm not. She cares about you so, you need to be the one to help her through,"
(Okay, my laptop is about to die and my brother has my charger so if I randomly disappear, that's why.)
Leo laughed, âYeah the deadbeat brother who only ever came for Thanksgiving.â
(lol okay)
Leo laughed, âYeah the deadbeat brother who only ever came for Thanksgiving.â
"You're here for her now and you care. She loves you so don't be like that. She's going to need you during the surgery she can't be alone,"
Leo smiled quietly and nodded, âOkay I can do that.â
"Anyways⌠Do you still have qualms about me working out?"
Leo waved his hand, âJust stick to the dumbbells.â
"Fine," he huffed and did as instructed, although he winced immediately, his head already throbbed but this was what he wanted.
Leo watched him for a minute before saying, âOn the other hand maybe you should save your strength for tomorrow.â
Darren put the dumbbell down⌠"You really going to do this? That's fine, I'll lift 100 while you sleep," he laughed and walked up the stairs.
Leo sighed and followed him up, âThen I guess Iâm not sleeping tonight.â
"That sounds healthy Dr. Pheonix. We can stay up and drink beer together while talking about life like two old men,"
Leo made a face, âBeer is disgusting. Now vodka on the other hand is great.â
"I agree I was joking. Also as a doctor, you should know that I can't have alcohol⌠chemo and shit,"
Leo nodded and winked, âI know. Doesnât mean I canât though.â
"Don't take my dad's alcohol. He needs it," Darren said with a serious tone.
âAlcoholic?â He asked concerningly.
"Yeah," Darren laughed, "My mom died when I was 9 so that's his coping I guess,"
Lillian smiled brightly at Ginger as she kept humming. She was really good.
Ginger closed her eyes and matched the perfect notes to harmonize with Lillian's basic ones.
Lillian stopped and smiled at Ginger, âYou are really good!â
Leo sighed, âI guess. Does he hurt you?â
