Leo raised an eyebrow, "It doesn't mean you need to pause your life, but you need to take time and rest. I can tell by your appearance that you clearly don't do that enough. I understand stress and all that, but whatever Lillian seemed to be against might not be the best idea. She has crazy motherly instincts. I swear."
"Hi. Lillian-" Her throat pulsed. Where Rachel had kicked. That bruise was the only one not fading.
Lillian looked at her throat and then back to her with determined eyes, "Rachel?"
āI just wanted to go workout⦠itās not a big deal,ā
Leo asked, "With smaller weights or like bench pressing and that good stuff?"
āBench pressing was my plan. I mean most of the stuff is along those lines,ā
Leo shook his head, "Yeah no. If you want to do anything with lifting stuff use smaller weights, like five to ten pounds. No bench pressing and that stuff. Doctors orders."
āYou know, I shouldnāt have said anything,ā his stubbornness shining through,ā
Leo frowned before smiling slightly, "Oh you definitely should have."
āYou guys canāt stop me. Itāll be fine. Iāll be careful,ā
"Uh no you won't."
Darren stood up and walked down the stairs. Bro g a muscled quarterback was ingrained in him.
Leo followed him down and watched him, "I refuse to let you do this."
āYou donāt have to like it honey but itās happening,ā Darren chuckled and threw his shirt to the floor and laid down, positioning his hands on the bar.
Lillian looked at her throat and then back to her with determined eyes, "Rachel?"
"And Miranda. Almost- Almost Jared too." Ginger's eyes clouded with tears.
Leo walked over and lifted the bar up and away from him. He smiled down at Darren, "No it's not."
āYou just took a bat away from me⦠it didnāt even have weights on it. Just the bar,ā
Have to charge my phone brb)
Lillian gently hugged her, "Oh Ginger. I'm so sorry."
Leo chuckled, "Yeah. It technically is in your weight limit, but it is not recommended to bench press in your weakened state."
(Okay)
Ginger flinched. Lillian couldn't see the puzzle of bruises covering her legs, chest, and arms because Ginger had worn pants and long sleeves. They abruptly flames up, giving her more pain than ever.
Lillian let go, "How bad is it?"
Ginger hesitated.
Lillian grew even more concerned, "Did Leo have to help you?"
"Yes," Ginger looked at her hands. A purple mark peeked out from her sleeve. She shifted to cover it, hoping Lillian hadn't seen.
Lillian had spotted the bruise. She gently took Ginger's hand and started to lead her towards the couch.
Ginger followed Lillian quietly and obediently. She sat down and looked at her knees. She tried to imagine them without bruises.
Lillian put her hands on her knees. She whispered quietly, "What happened Ginger?"
