"Stop! Stop!" Ginger yelled, her breaths coming ragged and uneven. Tears streamed down her face. "Stop it, please!"
"Stop! Stop!" Ginger yelled, her breaths coming ragged and uneven. Tears streamed down her face. "Stop it, please!"
Lilliam winced and pulled away from her brother's grasp. She approached him slowly, "I'm trying to help Dare."
Rachel laughed and turned to Miranda, "I think that's enough for right fucking now. Fuck yeah or hell no?"
Miranda crossed her arms narrowly over her chest. She scowled at Ginger's pathetic form. "Heck no."
"Help? Help!," He nodded and continued pacing, "Sure fucking help you are!"
Just the tumor talking. Cooper reminded himself again when he felt the urge to bolt. Darren did not yell. Darren did not verbally abuse abuse the ones he loved. This was not Darren. His disappearances rarely came with warning. The tumor made frequent appearances whenever it pleased, screaming at his brother for bringing in the laundry; emotionally attacking his friends and girlfriend until they could barely stand to remain in the room; tripping up his feet; halting words somewhere between his brain and his mouth so he was left frustrated and mute.
Cooper had kept track of the larger outbursts carefully, making little tick marks on his calendar in red pen- the marks were farther apart than they used to be- more and more neat little empty calendar blocks separating them. Progress. Cooper focused on anything that symbolized progress.
Lillian winced and stepped back. Even though she knew it wasn't Darren it still hurt. Leo entered the room and asked, "How do you feel Darren?"
Rachel laughed, "Okay well Ginger. Let's have a bit more fucking fun."
Darren abruptly left the room, Cooper could hear his footsteps on the stairs. Heās walking all right, at least, that's a good thing. Walking well or not, Darren was in a mood and Cooper didnāt trust him to be wandering around alone. He looked to Lillian, it was clear he was stressed and fed up already. "Can you guys so this, I-Iā¦.. I just, I can't"
Lillian nodded, "Let's go Leo."
Leo held her back, "Like hell you're going."
"Like hell I'm not," she followed after Darren. Leo let out a long sigh and walked after her.
Rachel laughed, "Okay well Ginger. Let's have a bit more ****ing fun."
Ginger fumbled with her bag and unfurled from her posture. She tried to run.
Rachel grabbed Ginger's back, "Oh no you fucking don't."
Darren moved from room to room, pulling open drawers only to slam them back shut, checking end tables and letting out short, disgusted sighs.
He tipped pictures over and left door open along with cabinets as he searched. They wound up in the kitchen, Darren opened every cabinet door until his eyes lit upon the desired item. He pulled keys from the drawer that Cooper had tried to hid, Darren, shouldn't be trusted to drive right now.
Ginger tried to twist away, but to no avail.
Leo moved in front of the door to block his exit. Lillian approached him, "Darren you shouldn't be driving right now."
Rachel laughed as she pulled Ginger down to the ground, "Well Miranda, what the fuck do you think we should do?"
āIām going for a drive,ā Darren said resolutely, his tone a flat warning and his eyes practically screaming donāt-you-dare-try-to-stop-me.
Lillian looked at him sternly and said in a flat, I-fucking-dare-bitch, "No your not."
Miranda walked over swiftly, grabbed Ginger's bag, and doing it aside. "Your call." She looked down on Ginger scornfully and cracked her knuckles.
āI am not staying in this fucking house for one more goddamn second. I canāt breathe.ā Darren snapped. He made a quick sidestep around Lillian in an attempt to reach the door.
"I think we should get a little fucking physical," she stepped back, "You can do the fucking honors."
Lillian followed him and stayed in front her arms out, "Then you are going through me first."
Ginger looked pitifully up at Miranda. Miranda shook her head and kicked Ginger hard in the gut. Ginger gasped, having no time to recover before Miranda struck her again in the same spot.
Darren was trying to twist away and losing his balance simultaneously. He fell into her and they toppled to the floor. Still, Darren tried to scramble up and toward the entryway but Lillian had fallen on top of him.
Lillian held him down, "Stop! Please your just going to hurt yourself."
Rachel stood in the background shouting up swear words like no tomorrow, "FUCK THAT BITCH UP! THAT SLUT DESERVES NO FUCKING MERCY! HER ASS SHE GET FUCKED UP!"
Ginger wanted to scream and cry and run and fight, but Miranda was so incessant that she couldn't even think.
"Lemme go." He was struggling hard, but his movements were clumsy. Despite his weight loss, Darren could be incredibly strong. "Lillian, fuck off," Darren growled. "Stop pinning me to the fucking kitchen floor!" Darren screamed back, but then he stopped struggling suddenly. He went limp as he groaned.
Leo let out a sigh of relief. Lillian did to, her arms were sore. She rolled off of him and started to cough heavily.
Rachel continued to shout glee filling her every word.
Darren pressed a palm into his forehead, "Jesus, my headā¦" Darren remained where he was; his eyes closed, his hand still pressed against his head. He drew his knees up to his chest.
Ginger did manage one word. One very loud word. "Help!"
Miranda kicked her throat.
(How close does Darren live to the school?)
Leo walked over. He concerned for his still coughing sister, but her boyfriend came first. He placed a hand on him, "How do you feel?"
(Very close⦠I think like walking distance of a few blocks???)
