Aidan cocked his head a little, “You look tired? Everything alright?” He asked, trying not to blush.
Aidan cocked his head a little, “You look tired? Everything alright?” He asked, trying not to blush.
Cade nodded. "Yeah, I've just been writing this essay for a while, and the computer started to glitch out on me. I've been trying to fix it for the past half hour." He felt embarrassed saying this and avoided looking at the guy.
“Oh, that sucks. I don’t have to write an essay for another week at least,” he sighed and shook his head, “I should probably get back to that research, it was nice meeting you.” He said and started to walk back to his table.
"Wait," Cade said, stepping forward. "I hate to ask this, but do you think you could help me with the computer?"
Aidan smiled a little, “I can try my best but I’m not the best with computers.” He said laughing a little.
Cade smiled at him. "Me neither. Maybe we can figure it out together," he offered.
Aidan blushed a little, “Sure, I’m Aidan.” He said, trying to hide his embarrassment.
"I'm Cade. U-um, it's this way," he said, making his way over to the computer. He fidgeted with his hands a bit, not knowing what to do with them. What is one supposed to do with hands? How is a person supposed to make their hands natural? He crossed his arms before uncrossing them, leaving them at his sides and swinging them a bit. He probably looked ridiculous.
Aidan noticed he was fidgeting and thought it was cute but didn’t comment on it. He was quiet happy he had met Cade, he seemed nice and was cute so that was a plus. But he probably didn’t like guys so that was a bit of a sad thought.
He gestured to the computer screen. "So it just keeps glitching different colors. Green and magenta for the most part. Any idea what it could be?"
He frowned a little and turned the computer to see the wiring behind, “I think it’s because the wiring has been out in the wrong sockets, they don’t seem to fit… don’t worry this won’t crash the computer, you’ll still have the work,” He pulled out two of the wires and switched them round, then hit the computer and it worked again, “There, some idiot just doesn’t know wiring.”
Cade stared at the screen, then at Aidan for a moment. "Wow, that was quick," he said. "Thank you."
“No problem, it doesn’t take to long if you know what you’re doing.” He shrugged and bit his lip to stop from smiling to wide.
"Guess I know who to call if that ever happens again," Cade said, chuckling. Then he had an idea. But it was bold, and he would probably get rejected, and this guy probably wasn't gay, but… it didn't hurt to ask, did it? "Speaking of, do you think I could have your number? You seem like a cool guy."
Aidan couldn’t hold back his blush, “Y-yeah, of course, here.” He found a piece of paper and wrote his number down with the pencil he had and gave it to him.
Cade felt a goofy smile spreading across his lips. "Thanks," he said. He took out his phone and texted the number 'hi'. "Now you have mine."
‘G-great. I-I should get back to work. See you later.” He said, smiling and walking back to his table, he looked back and smiled again before picking up the pace.
Cade laughed lightly and rubbed the back of his neck. That actually went well. With a smile, he sat back down and saved his essay before finishing the rest of it.
Aidan went back to work but his mind was on Cade the entire time. He shook his head trying to concentrate on his research, having no luck at all.
With a yawn, Cade got up and walked over to the coffee machine again. He was going to need a lot more caffeine if he was going to survive his next class, which was in twenty minutes.
Aidan banged his head on the table, “Stupid. Useless. Brain.” He sighed, sat up and rubbed his head, bad idea. He eventually settled on William Blake as he chosen poet and started researching his poems, trying to find one to share for class. He looked at the clock, five minuets to go.
The bell finally rang as Cade was finishing his coffee. He cursed, running over to the omputer to print his essay.
Why did I pick literature? Aidan thought as he packed away his things and headed to class, forgetting to put his glasses away. Luckily the class wasn’t far away so he didn’t have to rush.
(what should we do???)
(Hmm…maybe we should time skip and Cade texts Aidan after classes finish??)
(yeah that would be a good idea lol)
Cade was finally out of class. His essay was turned in, and he was done for the day. "I'll study for the test tomorrow," he mumbled as he walked into his room and flopped down on his bed. He took out his phone and scrolled through it out of boredom. What if I texted Aidan? he thought. Curious, he sent him a text.
"Hey man"
Aidan was sitting at his desk, reading up on William Blake when his phone buzzed. He opened the screen to find a text from Cade, reading “Hey man.” He replied,
”Hey, what’s up??”
Cade smiled at the fact that he got a response.
Classes are finally over and I'm bored lol. what are you up to?"
”Reading up on William Blake for an assignment, yawn” He laughed a little as he sent the text.
