Darren looked over from where he stood on the other side of the room, "Morning sunshine,"
Darren looked over from where he stood on the other side of the room, "Morning sunshine,"
Lillian gave him a sleepily smile, "Morning."
"You slept through all the drama," Darren smiled, leaning against the wall.
Lillian sighed, "I did? Great."
"Yeah, Ryan's ex, Colton, came into town and he kissed Ryan. Belle saw them kissing and now they aren't together anymore. She's upstairs with Cooper and there were some, uhhh, very suggestive noises coming from his room," Darren laughed.
Ginger scurried around her room. The bus would be here soon and Miranda's paper was no where in sight. "Ginger! The bus!" Heartbroken, she trudged to the bus stop. She was going to get it today…
Lillian laid back on the couch, "Nope. I'm done. There are misunderstandings and then there's Belle and Ryan."
(Oof. Can they go to school? Sorry, I feel like I'm being really pushy and annoying.)
(No they totally can.)
"Yeah, I don't really understand the whole situation but Cooper won't kill himself and Ryan is with Colt so… happy endings?" Darren was tearing the kitchen apart.
(Okie, thanks!)
(That was the plan)
Lillian got off the couch, "I guess."
(Yeah, but Ginger's on the bus, so… Uh, sorry, I'm being annoying.)
He opened drawers and cabinets only to slam them shut and move on to another, "School today?"
Lillian nodded, "Yep. We riding your bike?"
"The bike? It might be cold but sure," He groaned in irritation, clearly, he didn't find what he was looking for. "You want like milk and toast or something?"
Lillian cheered, "Sweet. I don't really need anything. Maybe toast."
"I can make toast," he smiled and set out a glass with his non-tremoring hand.
Lillian smiled at him, "Thank you."
Lately, Darren's episodes have been short but they always happened at little things. Tripping made him angry dropping things made him violent. He opened the fridge and grabbed the milk with his hand, the wrong hand, and dropped it. The milk fell to the floor and spilled out. Darren stared at it, breathing slowly.
Lillian winced, oh no. Here it came she said calmly, "I'll go clean it up."
"I dropped it," He said quietly almost in disbelief. He looked down at his tremoring hand and then at the milk until finally up to Lillian, "Can't cry over spilled cow juice," he said, clearly holding back some emotion.
Lillian laughed as she walked over with paper towel, "No you can't. Let's get this cleaned and then go to school."
Darren nodded and walked out the front door, it was better than staring at it. He got the bike ready and waited for Lillian.
Ginger got off the bus, her legs shaking, and headed inside. It took her several times to get her combination, her fingers were trembling that badly.
Lillian hopped onto the bike and held onto Darren. Her messenger back was hanging by her hip.
"Sorry about the milk and the toast." He said starting the bike up.
Lillian smiled, "It's fine. Now let's go before we're late!"
"Like I care," He chuckled, "Hold on,"
(Car ride scenery…………..SCHOOL!)
