Blake gave Zander a sheepish grin and shrugged, smoothing out the gel in his hair was fairly easy, but flattening out his feathers was another story. "What do I say to her when she gets back? Sorry for passing out?"

“Awwww!!! That’s so sweet of him!”, Macha smiled, fingering her own gift from Ace. “And it’s gorgeous! Oh, and finally- don’t be afraid to ask him out first m’kay?”

"Okay." Dani nodded. "It is kind of pretty, isn't it? He said he wanted me to have it because it's important to him, and that I'm important to him too." Dani sat down on a chair by them. She looked at her watch. "And I am now, officially seventeen."

“Happy Birthday!” Macha threw her arms around Dani, ignoring how the floor seemed to tilt beneath her. “I gotta get you a present! Is there some kind of mall here? We could go shopping together with Sky.”, Macha offered, happy for her friend.

"Um…… if you really want to, there is one about five minute's walk from here." Dani answered, hugging Macha back.

"You wish you were the older brother." Zander laughed. Blake rolled his eyes and smoothed out his suit. After Zander finished preening Blake's wings, Blake took a step back.

"How do I look?" He asked nervously, taking a deep breath. He glanced at the door every few seconds, awaiting Frankie's return.

Frankie ran back in. She had removed her heels for faster travel and was carrying a wet cloth. "Are you okay? What happened? Aren't you Zander? Did you do something to his drink?" Frankie stopped herself, she was asking way too many questions.
