(Lol, no, it's fine! I enjoyed reading it! But, yeah, it's confusing.) (I'm just going to say that she went home, did college stuff, and now it's the present again.)
Kenzie sat in her usual booth at Hot Beans, sipping a new concoction today. It was some sort of mocha-latte-thing the barista had come up with, and she gave it to Kenzie for a discounted price. It was surprisingly good, with caramel, chocolate, and a hint of raspberry.
(It was so cliche I swear laughs) (Okie, that sounds good. Better than nothing, buuuuuuuut it's like evening rn)
(Uh… She's studying? grimaces)
Kenzie took out her Chemistry book and started to flip through the pages, skimming each of them. Her final was tomorrow, and she had been putting off studying for a while.
(I realize that this is as late as one can be, but can i add a new character, since Rob doesn't seem to be around? Spice it up a bit? :))
(Jordan, tall, outgoing, jocky type, black hair, warm hazel eyes, Wearing jeans and a (tight) sweater, (that does wonders for his muscles ;)
Jordan stepped out of the taxi and into the pouring rain. He knew he shouldn't just spring this on her, but he hoped that she would understand.
He was already soaking wet when he got to her door. He rang the apartment. and there she was holding the door open for him. (They know each other from college)
"Hey Kenz."
Kenzie opened her door to a familiar face. "Jordan, hey," she greeted him with a surprised smile. "What are you doing here?"
"I'm so sorry for springing this on you, but I seriously need a place to stay. My roommate just died of overdose and I can't pay the rent myself, could I stay here. It would only be for a few weeks tops! I would ask someone else, but you're the only other person I know who lives in this part of the city." he told her desperately.
"Uhm. Uh. Yeah. Yeah, I guess so," Kenzie stuttered in shock, her eyes wide at how direct he was. "I have an extra room that I don't really use, so I guess that would be okay. Do you, um, want me to show you the room? Or, uh, do- do you need to go get stuff?"
"Thank you so so much! You're an absolute life saver Kenz!" He pulled her in for a hug. "Yeah I'll go grab my stuff really quickly."with that he ran to his car, got his things and came back up with just a few trips back and forth to grab everything.
(Katyanna, is it okay if I add a little plot twist and have Hunter and Jordan be on bad terms?)
Jordan stood in the doorway of Kenzie's apartment with his bags. While he had gone to get his things, Kenzie had cleaned up the living room and guest room a bit, trying to make everything look at least somewhat presentable.
"Sorry about the mess," she apologized, grabbing a lone sock off the floor. "I wasn't really expecting anyone, and yesterday was laundry day, so I'm still finding socks lying around." She shot him a quick smile. "Anyway, I'll show you to your room, now, if you want."
(Katyanna, is it okay if I add a little plot twist and have Hunter and Jordan be on bad terms?)
(Ooh, that would be interesting!)
(nods yes! But I wanted to ask because it's something that Hunter was involved in that caused the death of someone important to Jordan (cliche yee ik) and so Jordan blames him for it. But I wanted to ask Katyanna if it was okay before I added that)
(Even being cliché, this RP could get interesting!)
(Sure, that could be really interesting! The question is, which death and how was he ínvolved'? idm what you say make anything up, i just gotta know whats going on :) )
(Ik! I made it! grins really wide)
Hunter couldn't concentrate on drawing anymore. He tried sleeping for doing anything that occupied his mind, but he kept drifting off to that one topic that kept popping up ever since that conversation with Al. It brought up unwanted memories, memories that he wanted to forget. Memories of her.
He tried drawing again; he tried Kenz, Al, Luna, but every time he got lost in what he was creating, he'd stop and realize the face he just drew wasn't any of them. It was her. Every time. So he gave up entirely and flopped on his bed, his arm over his eyes.
He checked his phone and saw three notifications from his best friend, but he paid it no attention. Leo couldn't help him; Hunter had never had the courage to tell Leo what he had caused. There was one person who knew, but he hated Hunter's guts.
His eyes fell on a number and he began to ponder. He could call her; she knew a little bit of it. Sure, she didn't know what happened, but she knew some of it. Maybe he could talk to her. Maybe he'd feel better if he did.
So he tapped on 'Kenz' and pressed his phone to his ear. And the minute she picked up, his throat closed up.
Hunter found himself unable to talk.
(Well, it could be Jordan's sister, who Hunter was in love with. But since he was involved in some bad things, like gangs and all or something like that, they ended up targetting Jordan's sister. When Hunter and Jordan ran to find her, the only thing they managed to locate was her body. Jordan, in a rage, blamed everything on Hunter and their friendship was ruined. I could make it that, that's the reason Hunter's not in favor of relationships anymore)
Kenzie pulled her vibrating phone out of her pocket. The caller I.D. read Hunter. She answered, "Hello?"
Silence. No answer came from the other end of the line.
"Hello?" she tried again.
(@»Callie« I love that idea!)
"Who's calling?" Jordan asked as he stood in the kitchen cooking them (dinner or lunch, whats the time rn?)
Hunter bit his lip, hearing the familiar greeting, but found himself unable to speak. Finally, forcing himself to utter even a sound, Hunter feigned confusion.
"Oh, sorry, Kenz," he said, his voice trembling. "That was… that was an accident. I hope I wasn't disturbing you."
