Ryan sighed and shook her shoulder, âBelle?â
Ryan sighed and shook her shoulder, âBelle?â
She was out cold. The passage of time nonexistent in her darkened state.
Ryan picked her up and laid her on the couch. He put an ice pack on her forehead. A sure way to wake someone up after theyâve fainted.
Her skin felt hot like she was burning, but she shivered like she was cold.
âBelle!â Ryan hated this, he just wanted her to wake up.
Her fears gripped her in her internal darkness, she whimpered. She was terrified but her voice wasn't working and her mind couldn't wake up.
Ryan laid close to her, he kissed her lips. He wouldnât move until she woke up.
Something cut through the darkness. Something familiar. A ray of sunlight through her stormclouds. She gripped onto it, an anchor to weight her into reality. The darkness was slowly lifting, she was slowly waking up.
(Yeet! Looks like Belle has her own sunshine too⌠no one expects her to eat in the dark)
Ryan picked his head up, âBelle?â
(Looks like she does. I don't. Not yet. I still eat in the dark.)
The darkness left and she opened her eye. "Hmm? Oh god I blacked out, didn't I?"
âHey, you did. It scared me,â Ryan laughed in relief, âIs an Anderson really that scary?â
(Oof)
"It's not that I was scared. It's just that sometimes when I have a lot of nerves or anxiety about something, it'll cause me to faint."
âOh,â Ryan nodded, âAre you okay?â
"Yeah, I should be fine." She sat up slowly.
âOkay,â Ryan got up.
"I really don't want to do this." She muttered.
âI know you donât but he needs to know,â Ryan ventured into the kitchen, âWhen you come back, your waffles will be ready,â
She chuckled a little. "Thanks. I'll be back." She walked out the door and started on her journey.
~LE TIME SKIP~
She knocked on the door to Darren's house, her stomach tied up in knots.
Cooper groaned and got off the couch, whinthe hellâ he opened the door to see Belle, âOh Belle. Hey. Darrenâs sleeping right now so,â
"Actually, I'm here to talk to you." She fidgeted with her fingers.
âMe?â Cooper raised an eyebrow and fixed his hair, it was clear he just woke up. âOkay. Yeah, come in,â
She walked in, squeezing her fingers, really regretting not having Ryan here. It'd be so much easier with someone else.
Confusion bled through his blue eyes. Typical. âSo. Whatâs up?â
(Sorry! Lunch called.)
She took a deep breath. "It's about what you said yesterday. About still being in love with me. I-I wanted to say thatâŚyou have to let go. You have to move on. You can't keep your heart closed off to everyone else hoping that I'll come back to you. Because I can't do that. I've fallen in love and I can't leave him. I don't hate you, I don't. But I don't love you either. I can be your friend, but not your girlfriend."
Cooper took a second to process what she said. In the end, it was obvious he was hurt and holding back what he really had to say, âI understand,â he said softly.
She glanced up. She'd memorized every emotion those blue eyes had ever held. He wasn't saying something. "You're not telling me something. It's okay, you can say it."
âItâs not okay, I canât,â telling her would only complicate things. He looked away, his hand balling into a fist, he hated crying, he wasnât his brother. He wouldnât cry in front of her.
