Lillian watched as the nightmares fled. They wouldnât return again this time.
Lillian watched as the nightmares fled. They wouldnât return again this time.
Cooper was awake and watched the two. âYou guys are so cute itâs sickening,â
Darren jumped, âGeez dude. You scared the crap out of me. Warn me before you talk,â
Cooper gave a confused look and laughed.
Lillian had a soft smile on her face.
âHey Coop Willnyou help me. Just donât tell Lillian,â
Cooper gasped, âSecrets from your lover, be careful!â
âI donât think sheâd be happy about it,â Darren frowned, âYou in or no?â
Lillian began her soft snoring. She was entering a deep sleep.
âGo to the gym with me,â
âWhy the hell would she care about that,â Cooper found humor in this.
âIâm not supposed to lift anything over like⌠20 lbs. I could break bones, tear muscles, have seizuresââ
âOkay. God I get it! Iâll go with you,â
Lillian slept
(Lol)
Darren looked back ant Lillian who was asleep. He really didnât know what to do but he really didnât feel like talking to his brother.
Lillian shivered under the blanket.
Darren readjusted the blanket but ended up crawling under it and holding her close.
Lillian smiled softly and her body melted against Darrenâs.
âYou could sleep forever,â Darren whispered with a laugh. âYou arenât going to be able sleep tonight,â
Lillian mumbled im her sleep, âWatch me.â
Darren chuckled. Even snarky in her sleep. âDo you hold out full conversations in your sleep too?â
Lillian didnât respond to that. Though her hand rose and flipped him off before shooting under the blanket.
Darren chuckled and kissed her forehead before resting his head over hers, âLove you too baby,â
Lillian nuzzled her head against his chin before relaxing again.
Darren wasnât tired. He mostly just fell asleep out of boredom. Minutes later he was snoring⌠not so softly.
Lillian was pretty used to his snoring by now. It was relaxing almost.
His throat and chest rattled from the snoring. He somehow never woke himself up. Darren hugged tightly to Lillian, he felt a dream creeping in but didnât want it to.
Lillian felt a large body wrapping around ger as it rattled. She almost panicked before realizing it was just Darren.
The dreams snuck through but this was more of a memory than a nightmare. Alek pushed Darren and he crashed into lockers before smacking his head on the ground. His friends surrounded him with concern laced expressions. âIâm fine,â he held his head and winced in pain. They dragged him to the nurse anyway who poked at his head until concern painted her expression too. She told them he just had a concussion but her face said more. He wondered vaguely if he had his tumor back then, she was just a school nurse she didnât have to tell him. Maybe things werenât as simple as they seemed.
Lillian had melted into Darrenâs body. She had no dreams, just peaceful sleep.
Darren had woken himself up again, convinced he wouldnât fall back asleep. âLil are you awake?â
(Hey hey friends!)

No response.
(So⌠idk what to do.)
(Well⌠You could join the other school chat we started up. It's sort of a we're sorry we left you in the dust/we're bored and we need someone else to respond. Essentially it's an attempt to stop leaving people in the dust.)
