Sydney curled into Darren's other side and fell asleep with her head on his chest. Darren smiled as his eyes closed.

Lillian had fallen asleep pressed next to Darren. Healing took a lot out of her.

Darren stayed awake, his headache was worse than usual and his vision spun so he closed his eyes.

Lillian nuzzled up against his chest.

Darren sighed, he felt like he could puke as fast as everything was spinning and as much as his head was pounding. The thought of vomit made his entire body tense.

Lillian tensed up feeling his discomfort in her sleep.

A knock came at the door, Darren pretended to sleep but whoever it was was being persistent.

Lillian blinked her eyes open and let out a sigh. Why did they interrupt her nap?

Darren noticed Lillian had woken up and decided to just say a simple, "What," His pain echoed in his voice.
Coop opened the door, "I hate to do this to all of our naps but we are needed downstairs,"

Lillian looked at Darren concerningly. She looked to Coop, "Can you give us a moment?"

Cooper nodded, "Hurry though," and left closing the door behind him.

"What's… wrong?" Darren asked.

Lillian nodded and looked to Darren, "That's what I was about to ask you. Are you okay?"

Lillian spun in his vision, "I'm okay," he smiled a little, "We should go downstairs."

Lillian shook her head, "Don't lie to me. I know you're not okay."

"It's just a little headache, I'm really okay," he stood up slowly his feet were wobbly and unbalanced but he tried not to show it.

Lillian stood up and took his arm. To be his balance and help show her place in the family. Yep, this was his girlfriend. Deal with it.

They opened the door to find Cooper who took one look at Darren and understood what was happening, he took Darren's other side as they all went down the stairs, the smell of food filled the air.
A woman looked around, "I'm not going to get it, I wasn't the one that forgot to pick it up at the store,"
Darren saw the woman and looked away quickly, Cooper did the same thing. She looked like the woman in Darren's pictures, she looked like his mom.

Lillian had a sinking suspicion that this lovely lady was Linda. She joined the boys and looked away from the woman.

The family was arguing over who had to go to the store, they were quite loud and deep in disagreement. This didn't help Darren's headache at all.

Lillian spotted Darren's ill health. She bit her lip before shouting out in her stage, no mics, commanding voice, "WOULD YOU ALL SHUT UP!"

The room fell deadly quiet as everyone's attention, including Darren's, went to Lillian with a look of shock, confusion or both. Linda was the first one to break the silence as she said to Lillian "Then why don't you go to the store,"

Lillian forced herself not to snap at the poor woman. She said calmly yet commanding in a much quieter voice, "Because I need to help Darren here and I'm not going to be driving anytime soon. So someone else get off your high horse and go. Now."

Cooper rubbed a hand through Darren's hair before standing up, "I'll go,"
Darren smiled a little at Lillian demanding strangers, this was great. Linda huffed and walked to sit next to Darren who immediately looked like he was going to cry at her mere presence, "Hey kiddo, how are you doing?"
His mom just had to have a twin sister.

Lillian held Darren tightly for reassurance. She could tell by this women's mere presence she had an effect on Darren. Most definitely a negative one.

"Fine," He groaned a response, "I'll be back," he stood shakily and made his way up the stairs slowly.
Cooper came back about 10 minutes later and Darren was still upstairs. The moment Coop entered he could feel the tension in the house, something wasn't right, he dropped the stuff on the counter and went up the stairs only to come back down with a horrified look on his face, "Lillian?"

Lillian quickly stood up and looked to Cooper, "What? Did something happen? Please tell me everything's okay."

Cooper responded with, "Darren is……….. Painting. It looks like it started with paper but that wasn't a big enough canvas, he's moved to the walls in his room. He yelled when I tried to stop him so I spread out some sheets and let him go. I think he needs you," Cooper looked very confused, "Try to keep him in his room,"

Lillian head ducked back quickly before she nodded. She started walking up to his room, "Will do Coop. Thanks for telling me."

She slowly walked into Darren's room to see the painting everywhere. She said softly, "Hey Darren."

No response
There was a pad of paper draped over Darren's desk, the top page covered in a blur of paint and fat marker lines, however, that paint was already dry and flaking at the top. Newspaper crinkled under them. The wall behind Darren's desk was painted, it looked like when he was done with the paper he just took a step the other way and continued painting and there he still was, hands full of paint.
