Enzo had been thinking the same thing. He just needed to convince everyone it was in their best interest to vote for themselves…but what if it didn't work? He had to make sure he and Lixi didn't die. But how? He shook away his thoughts. "It's our best bet. What else can we do? Kill someone?"
"So what… we tell everyone who we're going to vote for? …What if someone chooses a vote instead of their assigned? Or the kidnappers see what we're doing and just kill one of us off?"
"I don't know, okay?" he snapped suddenly. This whole situation was completely out of his control. He hated it. "I'd love to hear some other, better ideas."
"Why don't we just break the freaking thing." Lixi felt so frustrated and helpless, she hated it.
He fell silent. For the first time in his life, he felt unsure.
Enzo tried to gather his thoughts. He couldn't panic, not now. He had to think rationally if they were going to make it out alive. He figured Liam and Lixi would vote for themselves…but the others? He turned to the rest of the group. "Any ideas? Anyone at all?"
John looked from the screen to Enzo, "This might be a worse idea, but what if we voted for someone else, just the votes were even? Like we voted in a circle? (He's talking about something like if Enzo voted for Lixi, Lixi voted for John, John voted for Enzo (except to accommodate all the people)) That way we wouldn't have to vote for ourselves, because I'm not sure if any of us are comfortable with doing that," John looked to the ground. He didn't want to curse anyone to death, especially not poor Lixi, but he didn't think he'd be able to vote for himself.
"I can vote for myself if it'll save everyone," Chase speaks, voice showing no signs of fear.
John tried, and failed miserably, to chuckle, "I stand corrected. I can vote for myself too if we can all agree to vote for ourselves," John couldn't stop fidgeting. Would all of them vote for themselves?

Xander should have been more shaken, but he knew now was not the time.
"Well, this all depends on how they want to kill us. If we vote for someone to die, we could guard them, right? And if any assassins or whatever try to come in and kill them, we revolt. Unless… Hey, Enzo. The rules didn't say how they're supposed to be killed, right?"

Enzo turned to Xander, his face pensive. "No. What if they've already…I don't know. Never mind. I think we should assume that they have the power to kill whoever they want. I don't think it matters how."
"But what if we just don't vote? Maybe this is a riddle or something." Lixi mumbled as she also tried to think of a way out of this.
"They said whoever doesn't vote will die," Enzo replied softly. "I think they mean that."
"What if we break the voting booth? " Lixi suggested while she took a look around the room. There has to be cameras somewhere.
Her optimism reminded him so much of his nephew. Always looking for a good solution. He wished he could believe that there was one. "I don't know," he admitted. "But I'm guessing our kidnappers probably already thought of that. We have no idea what the voting booth looks like on the inside. It could be anything."
Lixi got up and wondered around the room. "I swear they have cameras somewhere, even bugs. Maybe there's like a system we can break." She said while looking everywhere.
