Ryan stared absently like he hadn’t even heard Belle.
Ryan stared absently like he hadn’t even heard Belle.
She snapped her fingers in his face. "Hello? Anyone home?"
His eyes snapped to hers, “Uhh Sorry What?”
She bit back her smile. "You checked out on me. Did you even hear what I said or were you too busy in your own head?"
"I didn't hear you, I'm sorry," He still looked broken, defeated. His hand was shaking but he did his best to hide it.
She smiled and pulled him into her chest again. "It's okay babe. I took care of him. Now it's time to take care of you. That sounded a lot more creepy than I meant for it to."
"There are more of them, there are always more and the things they do," He shuddered. "I have to go back. He's right I have to go home. I'm a monster." The words always sunk into him.
Don't. Don't do it. Do you know how painful it is to do that? It's easier than dealing with this! She sighed. "If they come for you, they'll come for me too. And unlike you, they won't let me off easy. It'll be torture, probably by electrocution, then they kill me. They like to get information before they murder their test subjects."
G'night y'all
(Night Sly!)
"I know how it works Belle. They would keep me because I have the ripper virus. They would brainwash me and I wouldn't know who I am, they would torture me like they have in the past. You've never been to Augustine and they wouldn't take you there, you aren't what they want."
She laughed. "No no no, not Augustine. I'm talking about the HASS. Humans Against Supernaturals Society. They've been hunting me for how long now? Almost 200 years? And they're fucking everywhere! Every town is full of them! It's why I picked an antisocial personality. I don't want to go outside therefore they don't know I'm here."
He nodded. Was she locked away like he was. It's time to go home… 21054. The voice echoed in his head. He stood up quickly and paced around the kitchen.
She shivered and sank to the cold basement floor. The days spent in that dark cell haunted her. The tests. The voices. They told her she was broken. They promised to fix her. It hurt to think about. They had lied. Nothing worked. It drove her to insanity. The doctors. The scientists. The long nights in the lab. She gasped. Her chest tightened. Her throat closed up. She couldn't breathe. She choked and coughed until eventually, she passed out. Slamming into the basement floor with a hard thump.
Ryan ran down to her, "Belle," He took her up the stairs and to the couch, "Belle?"
Darkness. That's all she could see. Then she heard them. The doctors. She could feel the cold metal tray under her. They were yelling. Yelling at each other. At her. They blamed her for all the problems they had caused. "No. No! Leave me alone! I didn't do it!" She could practically see the harsh white lights from the lab. "I didn't do it! I swear! Leave me alone! Stay away!"
He sat on the floor as he shook and panted, he didn't know what to do. He needed Belle and didn't understand what was happening.
The needles, the cold hands, and wipes of the doctor's. 'Control your temper' they'd always say. 'We're trying to make you better.' "Stay back! Don't touch me! Someone! Help! Please!" She was starting to cry. The homes of the doctors. The nights of abuse in more ways than one. She curled up, sobbing. "Please…someone help….anyone." Her voice was going quiet, the lights becoming more natural. She was starting to wake up.
He ran his hands through his hair and started crying he involuntarily cried out. "BELLE! PLEASE!"
She jolted up, gasping and coughing. She was trembling like crazy and looked panicked. She kept glancing around quickly, still half crying.
"Belle," He said quietly as he pulled her into a hug. His own tremors had returned.
She was so shaky she couldn't even talk. She just whimpered in fright.
(Okay two broken people aren't going to work rn)
(Okay Belle is literally having a mental breakdown/PTSD flashbacks so you can have Ryan be not broken for like 10 minutes, okay?)
Ryan pulled her closer, "It's okay, you can't scare me like that. I can't handle that,"
She was too choked up. She couldn't answer. She just kept shaking and gasping like a fish out of water.
He held her tighter, "Okay, sssshhhh, you're with me now,"
"D-D-Don't let them take me. T-T-They t-tortured me." She half sobbed.
"I know honey, you aren't going anywhere," He rocked slowly.
She cried. Hard. Her walls were broken and she was her true self. A scared and broken little girl on the run from her past. "They told me I did it. I didn't do it. I know I didn't. I know I didn't. No one believes me." She whispered, her words garbled by her tears.
