(Okay, thanks! Quite the age difference. Lol.)
"Well, I'm glad," Brooke said, grinning at him. "Oh… We haven't told them yet…"
(Okay, thanks! Quite the age difference. Lol.)
"Well, I'm glad," Brooke said, grinning at him. "Oh… We haven't told them yet…"
(Yes, very much so.)
"You wanna do it right now or wait?" he gestured to the couch.
Brooke shrugged. "I mean, sooner is generally better than later, right? But I shouldn't be the one to say anything; they're your sisters, after all."
He nodded and sat down on the couch.
"Are we playing a game?" Mellie inquired, hopping into one of the chairs.
Jacob shook his head. "Listen. Um…" He decided to rip off the band-aid. "Me and Brooke have started dating."
Jade hummed in acknowledgement. "Called it," she said satisfactorily.
Mellie did not have such a calm reaction, however. "Oh, Tim owes me five bucks! I can't believe this; you guys finally decided to stop being awkward! I call dibs on being the flower girl at your wedding," she decided seriously, all the while jumping up and down.
"Wait…what?" Brooke blinked, slowly sitting down next to Jake. "You…called it? And someone owes you money because we're dating? What?"
Jade explained, "It was obvious you two were crushing on one another. Especially when Jake came back from seeing you all starry-eyed and sighing. I was the first to call out both of you twos interest in one another."
He heated up in embarrassment as Jade said he was 'starry-eyed and sighing.'
"Tim thought you guys would never confess. I told him he was wrong. Kapow! Take that Tim!" Mellie seemed to be talking to an imaginary Tim.
(Ohmygosh, I love Mellie already. She's hilarious.)
"'Starry-eyed and sighing', eh, Jake?" Brooke muttered under her breath, casting a glance at him out of the corner of her eye. Rather than just being playful like she was earlier, this time she was using her teasing to cover up her own embarrassment. Honestly, she had probably looked the same to her mom when she had come home from seeing him.
(Glad we both agree… Definitely my fav of the trio. She's so fun to write.)
He buried his head in his hands. "Give me mercy…"
Mellie continued rambling. "Yeah, he looked so ahhhh…. she's so pretty and perfect… then the next he'd be like I don't deserve her…" She flopped down on the floor and let out a loud sigh, imitating Jacob.
He most certainly did not act like that. Jake buried his head deeper, face redder than a tomato.
Brooke blushed as she watched Mellie's theatrics. She certainly had a flair for the dramatic sometimes.
"Well," she choked out. She cleared her throat and tried again, her voice coming out clearer this time, "Well, if that's how he acted, I'm surprised I didn't realize sooner."

(Aw, okay. Bye!)
(I love the original the best for any candy or chips… or anything really. I dunno why
Good morning)
(Lol. 'Morning. I've gtg soon, but I can try to be on for a bit.)
(K
Imma just post a reply before I forget)
Mellie nodded. "You guys took really long to just say three words…"
Jacob felt absolutely mortified, not even daring to show his face or peek at the others' reaction.
"Mm-hm…" Brooke hummed in response, glancing at Jacob out of the corner of her eye. Gosh, he looked as uncomfortable with this conversation as she felt. Maybe she could get out of this situation somehow… "I, uh, need to use the restroom."
She gently squeezed Jake's hand before standing and making her way to the bathroom, where she shut the door behind her. Staring at herself in the mirror, she could see how red her face was, and she tried to push the blush down. No such luck. Go figure.
"Girls," Jacob muttered. "You're making uncomfortable… particularly you, Mellie."
To make up for it, she hugged him tight. "I just love you guys…."
Okay. You're good, now. Just.. Go back out there to your be– to your boyfriend, and it should all be good, now. What's even so bad about this, anyway? It's just Jake, Jade, and Mellie. You love them all. Jade and Mellie are like the sisters you never had.
Brooke regained her composure and smiled at her reflection. Her blush has all but disappeared, leaving just a hint of the red lingering on her cheeks. She opened the door and walked back out, sitting back down next to Jacob and resting her head on his shoulder.
He reddened.
Mellie turned to let Brooke in on the hug as well. "I'm sorry…" she whispered in her ear.
Brooke smiled as she hugged the younger girl back.
"It's okay," she assured her quietly. "We're just still getting used to it, so it can hard for us to hear you guys talk about it. Well, for me, at least. I can't speak for Jake."
"It's just… new still," he pitched in.
"Okay but really, do you guys wanna play a game?" she asked.
"I'm good with that," Brooke agreed. She lifted her head to look at Jake. "What about you?"
"I think that'd be nice. What game were you thinking of?"
Her eyes lit up. "Monopoly?"
"Oh, yeah! Let's do that! I'm going to dominate all of you!" Brooke declared, laughing.
(Sorry was gone watching movie with my family btw)
Mellie scoffed. "Yeah right!"
Jade left to get the board game, smiling.
(Lol, np. I was just eating supper…)
Brooke playfully stuck her tongue out at Mellie. "I'm totally going to win. Aren't I, Jake?" she looked to him, daring him to deny it but smiling as she did so.
He decides to tease her. "I dunno Brooke… Mellie is pretty good."
"Yes, I am!" she said confidently.
"Wow, I feel so betrayed!" Brooke exclaimed, dramatically placing a hand over her heart. Her eyes were wide with feigned hurt, but they shone with playfulness. "You don't even defend your girlfriend…"
He smirked.
Mellie shrugged. "He may be your boyfriend, but he's also honest. I'll dominate ya."
"Ha! You wish, kiddo," Brooke said, smiling at Mellie. "Seriously, I'm the best at this game. Also, I've lived longer. I have more experience."
