Tyson squeezed Lucille's hand a little. "So how is it that a shadow can talk?"

"I'm not a shadow." It huffed. "I'm an Elemental."

“Holy crap we’re in a science fiction book. Tyyyyyyyyyyy.” Lucille gasped, “And now I remember I have science homework due.”

(I feel emotionally tramatized for the stupidest reason.)

Tyson rolled his eyes. "Surely that is the least of your worries at the moment?"

“My grADES, Ty!” Lucille sighing melodramatically, shaking her head, “My grades.”

"You're liFE Lucille!" He sighed, mocking her. "Your life."

“My life means nothing without my grades.” Lucille shrugged, rocking on her heels, “That’s just the pain of reality.”

Tyson rolled his eyes. "You should major in drama."

Lucille sighed, “You have no idea how many times people have told me that.”

"All your life. I should know, cus I was there for most of it."

“True.” Lucille nodded, then she stopped. “We forgot about the shadow dude.”

'Shadow Dude' watched the two converse with slight amusement. "Are you finished yet?"

“I guess. I have a question.”

"Yes?"

“If I tried to poke you, would I actually poke you or would my hand just go through you?”
