Paige could feel Darren's gaze on her and she blushed again.
Paige could feel Darren's gaze on her and she blushed again.
More people arrived but no one sat next to them, they basically had the row to themselves. Darren barely noticed the people that had arrived, his eyes were still fixed on Paige as he memorized her features, her everything.
Paige blinked softly and looked over at Darren. "Can I help you?" Her voice smiled.
He was going to look away like he wasn't staring but he was already busted. He smiled as his eyes flickered between her lips and her eyes, "Just looking at a beautiful girl,"
"Ah ha!" Paige laughed hollowly.
"What are you laughing at," he gave her a fake scowl.
"Please don't lie to me," Paige replied.
"I have never lied to you," He smiled but it turned into him making a strange face, "Accept that time I told you that I didn't sign up for the musical," He added quickly.
Paige rolled her eyes. "That time is forgiven. But just now…"
"Fine, I need to own up to it you're right. You're not beautiful," He paused and bit back a smile, "You are gorgeous," He let the smile cross his lips.
"Ah ha!" Paige looked at him accusingly. "Now I know that you're lying!"
(I'm not copying Belle, btw. Or at least not trying to. This is what I would honestly do if someone said that I'm pretty.)
(No I didn't think you were, most girls do that… You then have to spend time telling them why you find them to be pretty so they believe you)
"Why would I lie to you?"
"Because I'm not pretty," Paige replied.
"If I didn't find you to be attractive then why would I be sitting here holding your hand and getting lost in staring at your face?" He smiled, "Also, not once did I say you were pretty. Beautiful… yes. Gorgeous… said that. Pretty… don't think so."
"Attractive?" Paige looked (fake) appalled. "I'm sorry, sir, you must have the wrong girl."
"Nope, I know I have the right one, I'm looking right at her,"
Paige arched an eyebrow and turned to look behind her. She surveyed the area and turned back to Darren, not meeting his eyes. "Sorry, I don't see anyone."
"Well I don't think I have a mirror handy," He pretended to pat down his pockets.
Paige's cheeks turned the color of a pale rose. "A mirror?"
"Well you obviously can't see how beautiful you are without it, that's why you have me to tell you,"
Paige laughed lightly. "Okay, and? Tell me what you see in me."
He normally would have panicked at having to voice his emotions, but he stayed calm, "Beautiful eyes, a kind heart, and a free spirit. I think you just need someone to remind you sometimes."
Paige felt heat rush to her face for the millionth time that day.
The lights dimmed completely and the movie began but Darren didn't take his eyes off of Piage.
Paige heard the MCU theme music playing and whispered in Darren's ear. "Remind me?"
"Remind you? Remind you how wonderfully beautiful you are?" He smiled and squeezed her hand.
"And how would you do that?" she murmured.
He kissed her cheek, "I would want to kiss you if you weren't,"
Paige shifted and smiled softly. "Are we going to watch or just…"
