Tyson rolled his eyes. "I wonder if there are any sentient beings around here…"

"There probably is. Otherwise, how would you explain the city?" Lucille sighed.

"True. I just thought maybe it was abandoned or something." Tyson looked down at his hands. "Holy smokes I still have tape on my hands."

"How did you not notice that?" Lucille said, shaking her head and smiling weakly.

"I dunno. I guess it's so dirty it just became a part of me." He examined the yellow and red tape that was around his fingers.

"…. great?"

"Yeah…" Tyson smiled.

“You should peel it off.” Lucille said, trying to fill in the awkward silence, “Slowly.”

"Why? I like having it there. Reminds me of what we're trying to get back to."

Lucille looked at him strangely, then she sighed, “Whatever you say.”

Tyson's head snapped up. "Did you growl?"

"I don't think so."

Tyson raised an eyebrow. "I'm gonna guess that you'd know if you had growled. That leaves the alternative."

"That there's a scary dog growling at the bottom of the wall?" Lucille asked.

"….No." Tyson blinked. "I'm thinking a monster of some sort."

"Oh." Lucille nodded, "That could be possible. Very possible in fact."

Tyson slipped his hand into hers. "In that case we should stick together."

Lucille chuckled lightly, "Definitely."

They walked over the roof tops until the 'sun' set behind the towering skyscrapers. Tyson shivered. "Oof I think I've had enough cold from that last place…"

"I think we all have had enough cold from the last place." Lucille sighed, remembering the cold that bit their skin every second they were alive.

Tyson stiffened. "Frick we're being followed."

"We're what? Again?" Lucille groaned, "Do you know what or who is following us?"

"Shhh." Tyson hissed. "I'm not sure, but I think it's the thing that growled at us earlier."

"Oh crap." Lucille muttered, "How close is it?"

"Mighty close." He took a deep breath.

"Where's Gerard when you need him?" Lucille grumbled, quickening her pace.

Gerard poked his head out of the bag. "I've been summoned?"

"Apparently there's something spooky following us and I don't want to find out."
