"Nelumbo nucifera," He walked back into the apartment.

Lotus stared blankly before it clicked. She walked in after him, "Scientific name and you better not start calling me that."

"I like it," he turned around to look at her, "Nelumbo nucifera, what would you like for dinner?"

Lotus sighed. Lord this was going to test her patience, "I don't care. What do you guys have?"

"I do not know. We could always pick something up," he scratched his head, he usually didn't have to make those decisions.

Lotus looked around. She was too lazy to make something, "Take out?"

"Take what out?" he looked around too.

Lotus rubbed her nose, "Chinese. Or fast food. Ya know take out food?"

"The Thai restaurant delivers," He thought he understood.

Lotus shrugged, "That works. Do you have a number?"

"58," sarcasm was new for him but he liked it. He walked over to the fridge and handed her the menu, "Max gets it a lot,"

Lotus groaned realizing her mistake. She took the menu, "You're really something."

"I am something, yes." He couldn't tell if Lotus liked him or was generally annoyed by him.

She walked out the door and knocked on the weird neighbors.
