Lillian nodded absentmindedly. She was physically present, mentally not.

"How about we hit up a Starbuck or something? My treat."

"That sounds great," He responded quietly.

Talia noticed Lillian's vacant expression. "Can I steal her for a sec?" she asked Darren.

Darren released his arms that were tangled around her. "Yeah," He said softly.

Lillian felt her head move to look at Talia. Her mouth formed the words, "What?"

Talia put her hands on Lillian's shoulders and looked into her eyes. "You are so not okay right now. And quite frankly, neither am I. Spill."

(No problem!)

Lillian's lip quivered, "She's dead. Paige is dead. I-I blew up at her old friend. A-And I think it's all my fault too."

Talia swiftly blinked tears away. "Her old friend? Who? And how on God's green earth would it be your fault?!"

Lillian looked at the floor as she said quietly, "J-Jana. I-I can't even begin to list all of the reasons it's my fault. Th-there are too many."

"We have time. And Jana, that…" Talia bit her tongue.

Lillian muttered, "She was coming to apologize. B-But Paige was already gone. A-A-A-And-"

Lillian began sobbing again. How was Paige's sister doing a better job at staying together than her? They're family for fucks sake!

(I don't think that you truly understand how much physical, emotional, mental pain Talia is in rn.)

"That… girl… better not have come anywhere near my sister," Talia muttered darkly. She quickly comforted Lillian, pulling her into a hug. "And what? I promise you can tell me."

Lillian took a deep breath before letting it all out, "I-I ignored Paige. I didn't mean to but I did. A-And then this demon queen lady showed up. Sh-she manipulated Paige into thinking that she loved her. A-And Paige became dependent even though we g-got her out. Then the car crash a-and now this! If I hadn't ignored her, th-then this wouldn't have happened."
