Lillian let out another quiet sob. She leaned into Darren as the tears spilled over.

Darren felt tears fall down his face and his shoulders shook. "I'm sorry," He said under his breath, it wasn't really for Lillian to hear but she might have.

(Also maybe Belle comes to investigate the new murder but spots Artemis there? At this point Belle and the others don't know Artemis knows about there Demon friends. So she could curious as to why Artemis is there and corner her later. Then Artemis's vast knowledge and resources for investigating the supernatural is like Belle's missing piece for figuring out Elizabeth's death. And they come together each with a separate half to the puzzle and BAM! The two solve it together. It would also force them both to trust one another a become besties.)

Lillian couldn't hear anything. The ringing in her ears drowning out everything else. Her whole body shook as more sobs wracked through her body.

He hugged her tighter to himself, trying to control his own sobbing to be her lifeline. He wanted to be strong so she didn't have to.
