"I think so." Ender chuckled. "Depends on if we scared him away or not."

Deleted user

"I don't know," Venus giggled. "You're pretty intimidating…"

Deleted user

"Uh…no. I look like an awkward cat." He shook his head. "Jesse, however, has the unfortunate habit of looking like he'll eat you."

Deleted user

Venus looked at Ender. Her eyes asked the question: Should we tell her? She laughed a little to blow off some stress.

"I forgot about that. Vender. Who came up with that again? Blaine?"

Jesse wandered into the room where Jane was working. He watched over her shoulder as she painted the headstone. "Interesting font choice."

“Comic Sans. Works great for these,” Jane said, not looking up. “Also for smearing paint on people’s faces.” She flicked her brush backwards, smiling.

Jesse nodded. "It's also one of the few fonts dyslexic people can read." He looked at her. "You don't mind if I watch, do you?"

@CWTurtleOfFreedom

“It’s fine,” Jane said, continuing to paint. Doctor Frank N. Stein, born May 1963, died June 2017. Her letters were perfectly sized and spaced, and she moved on to the next tombstone.

Jesse sat down on the ground. "Why didn't you just write RIP?"

@CWTurtleOfFreedom

“Not enough detail,” Jane answered, filling in another set of lettering. “Not as scary. I mean, RIP, cmon. Isn’t detail more convincing?”

Deleted user

"Yeah." He shrugged. "It's different too. Every time I've been to a Haunted House they always have RIP on the headstones."

Deleted user

"Exactly!" Jesse paused. "Why did you start this in the first place?"

@CWTurtleOfFreedom

“Well, there was this thing with our AP Cal class, and then it we realized it was around Halloween, and here we are,” Jane said. “My mum loaned me a bit so that we could buy a really run down house, this one, obviously, cheap. We built it up from there.” She finished Ms. Bee Headed’s tombstone with a flourish. “How does it look?”

Deleted user

"Sure!" Jesse glanced around. "Should I where a t-shirt or something?"

@CWTurtleOfFreedom

“Nah, it usually doesn’t get that messy,” Jane advised, passing him a brush. “I was doing a wall earlier, which was why I got paint on my face.”

Deleted user

"Really? You obviously haven't looked in a mirror today." He laughed.

Deleted user

"You should do it more often." Jesse smiled. "Now, what do you want me to do?"

@CWTurtleOfFreedom

“Well, the stone of the tombstone itself could use some touch up….” Jane passed him a pre-mixed palate. “Once that dries, you could do the lettering. Any name, within reason, should work. For that, we use either red, black, navy blue, or a combination of two or all three.”

Deleted user

Jesse nodded. "Okay…..can I put A. Hamilton on one of them?"

@CWTurtleOfFreedom

“If you must,” Jane sighed. “We try to avoid the popular dead guys at the mo…. but if you put it on one back there-“ she gestured to the last unorderly row of tombstones “- it should be fine. I didn’t take you as fellow Hamiltrash.”

Deleted user

"Are you kidding me? I love it!" He gestured wildly, making paint fly off his brush. "Oops, sorry…"

@CWTurtleOfFreedom

“Careful!” Jane warned, tracking the paint with her eyes as it flew off Jesse’s brush and landed amongst a pile of scenery. “Ah, that’s alright. Do you have a favorite song, or are you one of those people who are going to tell me that that is like choosing a favorite child?”

@CWTurtleOfFreedom

“Okay, that’s something. Mine is probably First Burn, which was the original way Lin wrote ‘Burn’, but it didn’t make it in,” Jane shrugged. “Dunno if that counts.”
