Her heart was being squeezed. She wanted to talk. No. "Okay," she sighed shakily. "I want to go home. But… drive slowly."

"I will." He kissed her forehead.

Ender pulled Jesse through the door. "…I can't wait til you meet her she's the light of my life!"
Jesse nodded but didn't look up from his phone. "Uh…huh….okay…"

Venus slid into her car and started the ignition. "Thanks for understanding."
"No problem!"
Venus waved and drove off.

"Hi! I'm here, and I'm not late!" Venus announced, dropping her backpack on the couch and crashing down beside it. Her eyes still looked a little red from the events of the night before, but she didn't let onto her pain.

Ender smiled at her. "Venus, this is my brother, Jesse."
Jesse put his phone away and smiled at her. "Hello. Nice to meet you."

Jane walked out of the back room, paint smeared across her face, drying her hands on a towel. “Hey, guys, just finished repainting- oh. Um. Hi.” She’d seen Jesse.

Venus got up and waved at Jesse. "Likewise."

Jesse raised an eyebrow. "Salutations. You've got something on your face."
Ender elbowed him.

Venus turned to Jane. She blocked the boys' views and helped her clean off the paint.

(Oof, I got pulled away to eat and then to go grocery shopping…)

Blaine was so close to Brendon that she was practically sitting on his lap, now. When she realized that, her face heated up, but she didn't pull back.

(I've been busy.)

Brendon's was all ready a deep red. His neck was starting to become red also. He pulled Blaine even closer and refused to pull back.

(The boy? Excuse me he has a name)

(Boys. Referring to Ender and Jesse)

“I know I have paint on my face, I just finished redoing the graveyard,” Jane snapped, waving Venus away. “And I like it there. Now if you’ll excuse me, I have a Scare Room to touch up.” She turned around and marched out, working hard to keep the smile off of her face.
