(YEET!)
"Yeah." Except everything.
(YEET!)
"Yeah." Except everything.
Lillian nodded unconvinced. She felt like Paige was holding back, “I’m glad you’re okay.”
She stood near the door, not wanting anyone to see her slip away if needed. A stab of pain. The tell-tale sign of an attack. Oh shit. I told you she might not make it. Whatever. She tried to keep her hyperventilating quiet. Don't call attention to yourself. For the love of everything don't call attention to yourself.
Darren backed up by Belle, “You okay?,” He whispered.
"N-n-not really." She whispered, heart hammering, legs shaking, breathing unsteady and sharp.
"I'm really sore," Paige explained. Her eye caught Belle. She barely kept her expression from deadpanning. She knows she knows she knows…
“What’s going on? Do you wanna leave the room?” Darren’s quiet concern was endearing.
Lillian nodded as she bit back a laugh, “That’s what happens when you get hit by a car.”
"A-anxiety attack. P-please, get me out of here, it's hard to keep this quiet for long." Her voice grew shaky, hands twitching.
Paige's eyes lowered. She didn't even see the car coming.
Lillian reached for Paige’s hand. She said softly, “I know you’re having a hard time right now. So I don’t blame you.”
Darren nodded and escorted her out of the room. “Are you okay?” He asked when they were in the hallway.
She sank to the floor, knees too weak to carry her. Her breathing was loud, unsteady and shaky. Her body trembled, tears streaming down her cheeks. "It's all my fault. I caused this." She whispered. Her heart hammered in her chest, head pounding. She took her bag from her shoulder and opened a little pouch with a small syringe. She removed her jacket, pulled her shirt down past her shoulder, jammed it into her skin, and pressed the plunger. She sighed in relief, pulled a small bandage and pressed it against the hole in her skin. "There. Much better." She rearranged herself and stood up.
"I… I was walking down the street. And saw a person. A figure in front of me. I couldn't see who it was, but I knew that it was Nami from her walk. She crossed the street, and I followed her. I… I didn't even see the car. I just remember pain. Especially in my legs. She didn't tell you yet, did she? The doctor." Her stitches squealed.
Darren looked at her in confusion, “What the hell was that?”
Lillian shook her head, “Tell us what? Paige what’s wrong?”
"I'm done. With everything. So they… so they…" Her stitches burned, and she clutched at her neck without meaning to.
"My emergency medication. It's for my anxiety if I'm having an attack. It's rare I ever have to use it so this was unexpected." She yawned. "The problem is it causes drowsiness as a side effect. So now I'd kill for some sleep."
Ryan moves closer, “So the What?” He put a hand gently to the one one Paige’s neck.
Lillian reached for Paige’s hand, “They what?”
"My emergency medication. It's for my anxiety if I'm having an attack. It's rare I ever have to use it so this was unexpected." She yawned. "The problem is it causes drowsiness as a side effect. So now I'd kill for some sleep."
“I can drive you home if you want,”
(Aaand how the tables have turned! Ryan cares more about Paige than wondering what happened to his own girlfriend and Darren is the one taking care of her. I literally don't even know what to think right now.)
(Ryan has a hard time with people who are suicidal because of his sister. Darren knows that so he’s stepping in.)
She smiled. "That'd be lovely. I hate to just leave randomly but I don't wanna fall asleep in here."
Darren nodded, “Ill go let Lillian know,” he walked back in the room and put a hand on Lillian’s shoulder.
(Then he should be concerned about Belle! He's lucky someone noticed otherwise attacks make her suicidal! I'm not even kidding, the attacks tell her to kill herself soooo yeah let that one sink in.)
Lillian turned to face Darren. She whispered, “What’s up?”
Paige looked at Ryan, slightly confused. Her throat hurt too much right now to talk, but her lips formed the name anyway. "Belle?"
“Belle was upset and took anxiety meds that made her tired. I told her I’d take her home,” he whispered back, “I’ll be back okay,”
Ryan looked around and noticed Belle was missing. Darren walked over and filled him in.
