Darren took the phone away from his ear at the sudden yelling, "I'm sorry, you were really drained and I wanted you to rest. If she needed you I would come and wake you up."

Lillian sighed. She understood his reasoning, "Okay. But can you please come pick me up? I think I might actually need to go to-"

She stopped remembering the burns were her punishment for hurting Paige.

"Okay, I'll be there in a few," he was already almost there.

Lillian nodded, "Okay. See ya."

She sank into the couch. Her burns hurt she touched one and whimpered from the pain.

Darren walked through the door, "Hey Lil, I'm here," he shook with guilt when he saw Lillian.

Lillian looked to Darren. He was shaking, she looked away. It must be because of her, "Hey."

"You ready to go?" he couldn't tell if the demon scared her.

The ambulance pulled up to the hospital and workers cleared the way. Dr. Lisa Vegran lead the charge. "Hurry! To the ER! Someone get me a status update and a read on her heart." People scurried to please her. She was well-respected, and, some would say, the best doctor that they'd ever had. She wondered where Paige's friends were for a split second, then went back to business. "Clear a path!" She exclaimed loudly.

Lillian got up and nodded, "Yeah I'm ready."

She looked awful. Her burns were worse, to Darren it probably looked like she needed to go to the hospital. She wasn't going to.

He nodded and got in the car. He hesitated on starting the car, "Lillian, we need to talk about what happened."

Lillian looked at him. She remembered him turning into a demon. Then her struggling. She probably deserved it. Lillian nodded, "I guess."

"Do you have questions?",Of course, she has questions, dumbass you turned into a monster and tried to kill her.

Lillian bit her lip. Questions flooded her mind. She picked a pretty harmless one, at least she thought it was harmless, "How long have you…. ya know?"

"I think forever but it first happened when I found out my mom was sick," he ran a hand through his hair.

Lillian nodded, "What exactly were you?"

"His name is Balthazar, I'm part demon part human. It's genetic but it skipped my parents. He only comes out when I'm really angry which is why I hardly ever am. He also comes out once a year during what's known as the 'rebreaking' when I lose complete control. I can turn anytime I want and have control but I don't like to, he scares me." Darren's speech was choppy.

Lillian nodded. She went to move her hand but winced from the pain instead, "Okay. Has it happened yet? Do I need to be worried?"

"It hasn't happened this year," he frowned, "I always hear his voice in my head a few days before it happens,"

Lillian sighed, "Great. So that's something I need to watch for. I've got nothing else. Your part demon that's cool."

"I'm sorry I didn't tell you, usually I can keep control but I think the tumor is messing with me." He paused, did she think it was cool or was she being sarcastic? "I have powers too," he said hoping she was serious.

Lillian started to smile before letting it fall. That hurt, "Really? What kind of powers?"
