"After you guys left, the guy wearing the armor, he disintegrated. I mean I actually watched him turn to ash." Sami said, handing the bag with the armor over to Kira. "I also thought he looked super familiar. I dunno. Maybe I saw him after the fire, or something." She scratched the back of her neck awkwardly and leaned on her crutches.

Michael approached Kira quietly “my princess,” he spoke “are you okay?”

Anna leaned against a tree, observing the two talking quietly. Sami and Anna exchanged knowing glances, wiggling their eyebrows.

"I'm fine." Kira was pale, and could only restrain herself from shaking. "The resistance knows we're here. We need to get out now."

"Yes" Michael brought his horse "hurry, get on"

Michael helped Kira onto the horse. "Where are we going? And how are Sami and Anna going to travel?"

"I dont care about them" Michael insisted "my duty is only to you"

"Hey, wait!" Anna protested, "Don't just leave us here, I don't want those things near me as much as you do!"

Through gritted teeth, Kira said, "They aren't after you. If you avoid them, they'll avoid you. They will, right? Maybe?"

Anna pursed her lips. "I don't exactly trust that theory."

"Michael, help Sami up. We're going slowly. You and Anna can walk." Kira thought it sounded fair enough, right?

Anna sighed in relief. She really didn't want to be stuck without someone. "Alright, let's go Sami." They began their slow trek, Sami following them.

Sami was helped up onto the horse. She laid her crutches across her lap and adjusted herself. She had never ridden a horse before and had no idea what it was going to be like. When they started moving, she found that it was not unlike riding in a carriage, but a little less secure.
"Off to safety, I guess.' she thought, and decided to engage Anna in conversation.
"so Anna." Sami said, breaking the awkward silence, making Kira jump a little. "Where are you from?"
"The forest." Anna said, fiddling with the hem of her shirt.

Forest is cool

"But like, where are you actually from?" Sami asked.
"The forest." Anna was nervous, but didn't show it.
Sami sighed. "Where in the forest?"
Anna paled slightly. "The- um- the forest."

Sami narrowed her eyes at Anna suspiciously.
"You're avoiding the question."

"You know your way pretty well around the forest. I could have guessed that you live there. Where in the forest is important. Each village has its own culture and traditions." Sami added. "Why wont you say where?" She asked, her gaze softening.

"It's- it doesn't matter," Anna replied, looking down. "I'm an outsider," she added as an afterthought.

(ok im a fan of supernatural anybody else sorry for bringing this up i just wanna know. :) )
