guys random question which would be a better book

a fantasy book about a mysterious man who is on the run from somebody who got raised from the dead and is trying to kill him

or a realistic fiction book about a 17 year old awkward guy who has a huge crush on this girl that he ends up dating, but their relationship ends up going down a dark path as he discovers her violent tendencies and hostile personality. Throughout the book he's trying to escape the relationship that's becoming more and more emotionally abusive and controlling
