Koko stared. "I guess. Maybe. I don't know. Why?"

The barista glanced at Ferran. "No reason…"

"Okay…" Koko narrowed her eyes.

Ferran blushed harder.
The barista cast another glance at Ferran and raised her eyebrows.

Finally, Koko looked to Ferran. Her mouth thinned when she took in his blatant coloring, but didn't comment.
"Hope tonight it won't snow again. The wet pants sucked," she said distractedly.

"Yeah…" Ferran cleared his throat. "I do enjoy the snow though."

"It's all fun and games until you get sick."
Lifting an eyebrow at the barista, she pestered, "Are they done yet?"

"Almost." The barista bit her lip. "Can I get your number?"
Ferran blinked. "What me?"
"Yep!"
"Uh….."

Koko's eyes widened in bafflement. What? Before she knew it, she had choked on her spit.

Ferran glanced at Koko. "N-No?"
The barista leaned forward. "You sure?"
"Uh….."

"Stop badgering him. He gave his answer, move on." she stated.

Ferran nodded. "Yeah. I don't want to."
The barista sighed. "Very well. Here are your drinks." She handed them their order.

Koko left the needed change, snatched her drink and walked out

Ferran grabbed his and followed, a bit embarrassed. "I'm so sorry about that she caught me by surprise and I didn't know how to speak…"

"Ferran, it's fine. I didn't expect it either." Koko slurped her shake.

Ferran sighed. "It doesn't feel fine." He paused. "Where are we gonna drink these? I don't really want to walk anymore."

Koko motioned over to a bench, wordlessly walking over there.

Ferran paused then followed. "You're angry aren't you…"

"Only at the barista; not at you," she replied, settling on the bench.

Ferran sat down next to her, taking a sip of his shake. "So….what are you gonna do when you get out of school?" They had discussed this many times before, the answers changing as they grew older. It seemed like a good subject to ponder though.

"I still want to go to college, at least for a few years. After that…" Koko sighed distantly. "I'd want to become a dancer. Maybe along the way I'll get married, or something… I dunno."
She grinned at him, "Of course, with whatever happens you'll be there next to me, right? So has your answer changed again, or…?"

"Nope. Still the same. I'm gonna be an Olympic Figure Skater. And of course I'll be with you. To the end of it!"

Koko rolled her eyes, "Maybe you should try for something lower first. Don't want to get too ahead of yourself."
