"I can never lose my appetite, Conner." Mariko stood up, her blanket hanging around her shoulders.

Ellen sighed as Ellis walked by. She plopped down on the ground. That could've gone worse. She sighed again, relieved that he hadn't been explosively angry.

"I can take care of it Mari." Ellis stated.

"All right. I'll just sit here, I guess."

"me and Gaia accidentally ran on a farmers private land… he's a good freaking shot when he's drunk."

Yeah you do that…
Ellis knelt down next to Conner. "Alright, this'll sting."

Conner sighed "got it…" he then readied himself for a burning pain

Ellis took some of the paste out of the can and started applying it to Conner's wound. "It'll burn for about a half an hour."

Conner grunted in pain again and exhaled "this is gonna suuuuuuuuck"

"Tomorrow is another day, right?" Mariko leaned back onto the couch, pulling her hat down over her eyes.

"I certainly hope so."
Though I wouldn't mind reliving today…

Conner walks behind the counter and sits in the take off chair. "ow… in a word ow…"Conner begins to chuckle to himself "he was so drunk… how did he hit me?"

Maybe I should've just rejected him. It would've been easier. Mariko sighed and stared at the ring on her finger, shining in the bright lights of the kitchen.

Ellis got up and went over to Mariko. "Mind if I join you?"

"want somethin' to eat Ellis?"

"Naw I'm good. If I did I'd make it myself."

"I don't mind." She patted the seat next to her and readjusted her cap.

"you're the boss." Conner winced in pain "be right back…" Conner went to his room with a pair of needle nose pliers yay some of the bolt broke off in the wound…

Ellis sat down. "How long do you think we should stay here?"

"Where? The kitchen? Crossakiel?"

"Crossakiel. How long should we stay?"

conner will spend the next half hour pulling bits of steel bolt out of the wound.

"No idea. A few more hours? I'm heading out alone to grab some supplies to make the landing gear better." She twisted the ring on her finger over and over again.

"Okay." Ellis glanced at her hands. "What are you nervous about?"

"Nothing. Not nervous at all." Mari stuck her hands in her pockets, her bangs covering her eyes.

"Do…..do I make you nervous?"

"Y-yeah, sort of." Especially when you're so close.

"Oh…." Shoot. "S-Sorry…"

"No, don't worry about it." Mari clasped her hands together and stared at him.
