He stood up leaving his textbook on the counter and moving to the fridge. "We really should buy food," He said peered into the fridge.

A firm knocking on the door was heard.

"I got it," He said walking toward the door, "H-hello?" He opened the door.

"Hellooooo, young man! My name is Gayle Volpano. Would you like to take a survey?"

"A survey?" He was thrown off by the stranger's enthusiasm. "What am I surveying?"

A tall, nicely tanned woman stood in the doorway, wearing bootcut jeans and a flowery top. "Well, I am representing a new shopping mall right down the street that is going to open soon! I was wondering, do you have a membership with something? Like, say, another store?" She grinned.
