Amanda walked over to the man and pushed him out the door and locked it. She rushed over to James and pulled his hands off his ears, "You okay?"

He was still panting, “That man was loud and scary,”

"Yeah, how about we go sit down? I can get you some water and we can relax." she said, still holding his hands in hers reasurringly.

He nodded and let her lead him to the couch. He sat down and began to rock back and forth. “People always yell,” he said with his hands back over his ears.

Max walked out of the bathroom. "My shirt was absolutely soa-what happened?"

"Hey hey hey…" she cooed, "I know people yell, but we can make sure that we don't react, please let me help you right now." she explained, gently taking his hands again. "Hey Max, some guys came in and started yelling. I kicked him out but he made James upset, right James?"

James nodded, “He was loud.”

He lowered his hands, still rocking. “People always yell,”

"Yeah" she smiled. She blushed, noticing Max was still just wearing a towel. She hadn't had a crush on him, but she still found him attractive. "Max put on clothes"

James stopped rocking. “Can I have lemonade?” He asked shakily.

"Yes, I bought some yesterday actually" she replied, getting up and going to the fridge

"Ugh. Why?"

"B…because."

Max gestured. "Because……because what?"

“Because she likes you and you’re unnerving her,” James chimed in.

"Because you're hot" she whisper-yelled, grabbing a glass from the cupboard

"Oh well glad to here somebody thinks so." Max laughed and disappeared into his room.

Amanda sighed and filled the glass with lemonade. "Here James" she said, sitting back down on the couch with him

“Thank you,” He said grabbing the cup and avoiding physical contact.

Amanda made sure she was at a good distance from him for him to be comfortable. She turned on the t.v which was always on closed captioning instead of sounds.

“Pipes,” He said quietly.

Max came back into the room, pulling his shirt down. "What're you watching?"

"House renovations" she laughed. He had walked in just when they were installing this beautiful kitchen sink

"Well sign me up this dump could use a facelift." He plopped down next to her.

"Ha, we don't have even enough for a lip injection"

“It is not a dump,” James said with a concerned tone.

"It's a metaphorical term Jamie."

"Metephorical has a nice ring to it doesn't it"
