Vaughn laughed as he looked at Kaz’s hand. “That’s still a cool thing. It’d be awesome to be able to do things like that,” he commented. The elevator stopped, and the doors slid open, and he stepped out.
Vaughn laughed as he looked at Kaz’s hand. “That’s still a cool thing. It’d be awesome to be able to do things like that,” he commented. The elevator stopped, and the doors slid open, and he stepped out.
"Sure it'd be awesome, but do you know how much I have to eat to keep up the energy to do this? I eat like a goddamn pig," Kaz chuckled, walking out of the elevator with Vaughn
“You better not be discreetly calling yourself fat again,” Vaughn said, lips turning into a slight frown. He walked down the hall, to where his room was at the very end of it.
"No, I'm just saying that I have to eat a lot to zap things. Though I can't really do much anymore since I've lived off ramen and the occasional charity breakfast Mikah's grandma sends me," Kaz said with a shrug
“Why did you never ask me for money? I have a bit, I could have helped you,” Vaughn said, continuing to frown. Why wouldn’t Kaz come to him. Weren’t friends supposed to help each other in that way?
"I…I don't know? I guess I just didn't want to bother you with my problems," Kaz mumbled, staring down at his feet sheepishly. You know why. You know that as soon as you ask for money, he'll turn you into his little bitch, his mind sneered, and he couldn't help the small grimace that crossed his face. Vaughn wouldn't do that to him. He wasn't like Finn
“Kaz, we were friends. I would have gladly helped you out,” Vaughn said. He wanted to make it clear that Kaz could come to him for anything. He wanted to be able to take care of Kaz.
"It's okay, Vaughn, really. I'll live," Kaz assured him. "I'm supposed to start working at a new tattoo parlor in a few days, so I'll actually have an income again. Then I can pay Erik to fix my bike and everything."
“If you say so…” Vaughn said slowly. He walked to his door and opened it, stepping into the small bedroom. “I don’t have much, just a few changes of clothes and such,” he said, walking over to a small dresser.
"That's okay. Hey, we could even go to the mall and go shopping sometime," Kaz suggested, flopping down onto the bed as he watched Vaughn. "I mean, I need to get more clothes myself anyways. But we don't have to if you don't want to," he added quickly
Vaughn picked up a duffel bag, opening the drawers and stuffing clothes inside. “No, that sounds good. I need some new clothes,” he said, giving Kaz a light smile.
“Well, maybe we can go when I get my bike fixed,” Kaz mused, smiling back at Vaughn as he propped his head up with his arms
“Yeah, we can do that,” Vaughn said with a nod. He cleaned out his drawers of his things, crouching down and taking out a small box about the size of a shoebox. He stuffed that into the duffel bag before zipping it shut.
"What's the shoebox for?" Kaz asked curiously, a sly smile spreading across his face. "Or is it something you don't wanna tell me?" he asked teasingly
Vaughn noticed the tone of Kaz’s voice, and he rolled his eyes as he shook his head. “It’s definitely not what you’re thinking. I can show you later when we get back to your place,” he said.
"Aww. I'm only a little disappointed," Kaz snickered, rolling onto his stomach so he could look up at Vaughn. "Anyways, you ready?" he asked, only a little impatient since he was curious
Thorn blurted out quickly, "Because she likes me."
She covered her mouth worried she said the wrong thing. She always said the wrong thing.
Lana blushed and nodded. "Yeah. I do."
Cass glanced back and forth between the two. Then a smile spread across her face. "Well, then. That's different."
Thorn looked at Cass. Her face was a bright red. She didn't do a bad? This was okay?
Lana grinned at Cass. "So, yes, we sneaked out. It's because we can't go out in the daytime. We're actually going to talk to the hospital and see if we can leave in the evening," she explained, building off of Thorn's lie.
Cass shrugged. "I suppose I can't argue with that." She gathered her purse and began to walk out the door. She paused, put her hand on Lana's shoulder, and said, "I'm proud of you, Lana. You're making good progress with your addiction." She smiled and left the room.
"Aww. I'm only a little disappointed," Kaz snickered, rolling onto his stomach so he could look up at Vaughn. "Anyways, you ready?" he asked, only a little impatient since he was curious
Vaughn grunted, slinging the bag over his shoulder. “Yeah, I’m ready. Let’s get out of here,” he said, waiting for Kaz near the doorway.
Kaz rolled to his feet, hopping up and taking Vaughn's hand again. "Congrats, Vaughn, you are officially ditching this dingy ass hospital to live with your…boyfriend," Kaz said, struggling to say the word. He didn't normally like saying it, though he wasn't sure why. Fear that as soon as he said it, the relationship would be over was probably the main reason
“Thank god for that,” Vaughn murmured, pressing a firm kiss to Kaz’s forehead. He tugged Kaz gently out of the room, walking back down the hall towards the elevator.
Kaz chuckled softly, trying to will his anxiety away. It had been getting worse without his medication, and now that he was trying not to drink a lot of the withdrawl symptoms were beginning to show. He followed Vaughn out of the room, happy that they were about to go home
Vaughn pressed the button to open the elevator, and stepped inside once it was opened. He pressed the button to go to the lobby and waited with Kaz as the doors slid shut.
Kaz tapped his foot absently as the elevator door closed, squeezing Vaughn's hand gently as he looked up at him. "This is gonna be pretty great, isn't it?" he said with a smile
Vaughn laced their fingers together, looking over at Kaz. “It will be, yeah. I’m excited about this,” he said softly. “Just think, we can lay in bed and cuddle all day like you said, and we can spend more time together…”
Kaz grinned at the thought, a warm feeling curling in his chest. Life was going to be so much better after this, he was sure of it. "Yeah. Cuddles, and homecooked meals, and more than cuddles," he rambled on, his smile only widening at the thought
Vaughn chuckled softly, nodding slowly as he looked at Kaz. “Mhm, of course. And I’m going to spoil you as much as you want, because I know how much you love affection,” he said, giving his hand another gentle squeeze.
Kaz couldn't help the embarrassed laugh that escaped him. "Well, I can't argue with that. It'd be pretty nice to have someone around who actually wants to cuddle with me and stuff."
Lana grinned at Cass. "So, yes, we sneaked out. It's because we can't go out in the daytime. We're actually going to talk to the hospital and see if we can leave in the evening," she explained, building off of Thorn's lie.

Thorn let out a sigh of relief as Cass left. Her face was still pretty red as she turned to Lana, "Did I do good with her?"
