So basically, Valia, Kirin, Ellis, and Luciana were moving boxes to the attic. Then Ellis found a dumb waiter that took them up to a floor above the attic. He told the others and the others individually took the dumbwaiter up. The floor was full of jars of marbles. Luciana challenged Ellis about his memory, as Kirin shipped them in the process. Then Ellis insulted the dress Luciana wore on her 13 th birthday.

Then Ellis dropped a marble and the marble poofed to a flower. He threw another marble and it also poofed into a flower. And he threw another, which turned to a flame. Then another, which turned to a beam of light.

And that’s what happened summarized really badly. This is why I hated paraphrasing.)

Ellis examined another marble. "This one is multiple colors….I wonder…."

"Don't throw it at me!" Valia said.

"I'm not gonna throw it at you." Ellis chucked it at the wall next to the window. It poofed (which should be a word) and a rainbow spilled out.

"Whoa…" Valia gave a low whistle. "Whatcha suppose this one'll do?" She asked, holding up a vivid blue one.

"Water probably." Ellis shrugged.

“This is scientifically impossible.”

Valia nodded. "Ya don't say…"

Ellis swallowed a sarcastic remark. "Can I take a closer look at it?"

"Yeah." She handed him the marble.

He held it up to the light. "Well…..the only sure way of finding out is the smash it."

"Dude. This wood's really old. We don't know how much water that thing holds, and whether or not it'd wreck the floor."

“We could just take a jar and go in the yard.” Luciana suggested.

"Thank you for having common sense Luci." Valia said, picking up a jar.

"Sure." Ellis replied, a bit more sharp than he had intended.

“You’re welcome.” Luciana grinned.
