Ellen smiled. "Yeah." She murmured softly.
Ellen smiled. "Yeah." She murmured softly.
conner called down the hall "you guys want sushi?"
"That sounds great!" Mari tucked Ellen's hair behind her ears, grabbing her rag from her pocket and wiping some vomit off the side of Ellen's mouth. "What do you say? Do you like sushi?"
Ellen shook her head. "I don't think raw fish is a good idea…"
"How about some soup?" Mariko hugged Ellen again, trying not to hold too tightly. She'd always liked people who were younger than her. It was people like Ellis that made her get flustered.
Ellen leaned into the hug. "I dunno. I think ma usually recommended unbuttered toast." She sighed, missing her mom more then ever.
(Ellis you useless fish do something)
That's just toast. "Sounds good." Why did her snarky self have to shine through now? She let and patted Ellen's head, smiling. I am not good at this. Someone help.
Ellis scooted across the bed, ignoring the pain in his abdomen. "My dad always gave me raw lemon slices and it seemed to help."
"You need to rest." Mari pressed her hand against Ellis' chest, pushing him away.
"Naw I'm fine. What I need is for you to stop being so concerned and rest yourself."
Ellen chuckled weakly. "You two."
"And I will. Once you've rested and Ellen's feeling better." She stroked Ellen's hair protectively, motioning for Ellis to lie down. Stop being so stubborn and cute.
(Sorry guys, i went on a walk and i saw the coolest thing ever! I'll be sharing it on the ignore thread.)
"Papy, can i have some pot stickers? I'm not a fish fan." Gaia called.
Ellis huffed and turned to Conner. "Apparently I can't do anything until I've rested."
Mari nodded. "Exactly. Thanks for understanding, Ellis. Don't make me break out the big words." She folded her arms.
"pot stickers, sushi, and chicken noodle soup… large order but i should be able to get it done soon." conner was quick at work preparing the food but he's moving a little slower due to the wound on his arm.
"OI, no fighting in my… ellis's kitchen!"
Ellis laid back and sighed. "Okay that does feel good…."
"See? Now sleep. It's good for the health." Besides, I care about you. She wrapped Ellen in a hug. "You need to rest too, El."
Ellen hugged her back. It felt good to hug someone. "So do you." she murmured, shifting into a reclined position.
Gaia stared at the table, smiling to herself.
"Not really. I'm exhausted all the time, it's something I'm used too." Mariko cast a look at Ellis, trying to see if he would stop her from leaving. "I should probably go down to the control room," she scrambled for an excuse,"to. . . check the controls. . . and . . . other stuff."
Ellis opened one eye. "Come back soon. I enjoy your company."
"R-right." She looked down, trying to hide her blush, knowing she had no intentions of coming out. Mari'd had enough social interaction today to last her for years.
Ellen dropped deep into a dream, exhausted.
Lights flickered and guns fired. Grace and a 7 year old Ellen ducked into a maintenance closet. Marauders had attacked the freighter vessel they were traveling in. Tears streaked down Ellen's face. "Mom, what happens if they find us? Will they kill us?!" Grace shushed her gently, pulling Ellen into a hug. "No Ellie. They aren't. They aren't going to find us." Screams filled the air, and Ellen could hear the raiders getting closer.
about a half hour passes and the food is done "sorry i couldn't move faster…"
(sounds like Nashki and his sister)
"It's okay Papy!" Gaia smiled at him. "The longer it takes, the better it tastes."
Ellis slowly opened his eyes. "Ugh….I'm gonna be sore…"
