Lillian half shouted half whispered. She closed her eyes shut fighting the voice back and the tears spilled over, "I'm not mad."

(Sorry… Had to take a shower…)

Darren wiped her tears, "Come sit down and I'll tell you about Coop."

(It's cool. ALSO CAMIE IS ON! I REPEAT CAMIE IS ON!)

Lillian nodded. She moved over to the couch.

Darren sat down next to Lillian but gave her space. "There are so many reasons why Coop and I aren't close anymore and yeah he's coming to Thanksgiving."

Lillian's hands folded themselves and she stared at them, "Can you tell me the main ones? Please, I want to understand."

Darren looked away, "I guess it all started when my, uhhh, my mom, ya know. My dad used to be an amazing father until then but he always favored Cooper, spoiled him. I was always mama's boy. I reached out to Cooper after he went to college, I asked him to help me with Dad, but he didn't believe that my dad would do what I was saying he did and he called me somethings." Darren stopped when his voice started to crack.

Lillian reached for his hands. She grabbed them, "You, you don't have to continue. I understand now."

Lillian smiled at him, "You're one too. So maybe that could be where you two can begin again. If you want to of course."

The voice laughed at her and told her she was stupid for saying that.

"I can try," he smiled a little, "It's just that he's so arrogant, he only care's about himself. Also, I don't know if he'll be bringing his boyfriend to Thanksgiving."

Lillian nodded, "Hey he brings his boyfriend. You bring your girlfriend. It all works out."

"I hope it all works out," Darren put his head on Lillian's shoulder, "I'm sorry for not telling you about Coop, I don't really tell anyone and Brody only knew because his family is close with mine, I've known him forever."

Lillian put her hand on his head and pet him, "It's okay. I just wasn't expecting it, that's all."
