Ellen nodded, eyes trailing down to Ellis's injury. She gasped. "AH! What happened?" She looked Ellis in the face, her breathing speeding up. "Did I do that?!"
Ellen nodded, eyes trailing down to Ellis's injury. She gasped. "AH! What happened?" She looked Ellis in the face, her breathing speeding up. "Did I do that?!"
"No the demon did. Nothing you did during possession was your fault." He patted the wound gingerly. "Luckily Seth patched it up. And Mari kept me company."
"Yeah, I uh, I did that."
She picked up the broom that had fallen on the floor. Her heart felt heavy, it was so sudden. She started cleaning up the Mount Everest of salt.
Should I call him? Her mind swirled with thoughts. She just wanted to hear his voice, just once. She grabbed her phone from her back pocket. With shaking hands, she dialed his number.
It answered immediately. "Gaia?" Robert asked.
"Robert, I'm sorry." She cried. "I was wrong-"
"Gaia, no, I should be apologizing." His voice quivered. "I should've been more present and not such a jerk. I regretted it instantly, and when you left, I-" He took a breath. "I thought you were done so I didn't contact you."
"I shouldn't have disappeared like that." She swept some salt from the edges into a pile.
He sighed. "I get it. Our fight was rough and- Bryan I'm on the phone, get out of my room." He stated, cutting himself off. "Sorry. Our fight was rough and you needed a breather I get that."
"Is that Gaia?" A voice from the background asked.
"Bryan! I told you, get out, we'll watch Attack on Titan later!"
Gaia laughed. "Glad to know your brother's okay."
"Yeah, annoying as ever but okay. What's that noise?" He asked.
"Oh," She stopped sweeping. "I'm just sweeping a mountain of salt off the floor."
"What are you doing with salt on the floor?"
"I killed a demon!" I stated triumphantly.
"WHAT?" He yelled. "Are you okay? Where are you? How???"
"I'm fine, I'm on another planet, and i poured salt on it, it was a salty devil." Gaia punned,
"You're on another planet." He sighed. "Wow, we really are distant these days. How'd you get there, and how do we even have cell phone connection???"
"I got a job as a co-pilot to an intergalactic ghostbusters group. As far as the connection, i have nooo idea." She sighed.
"Well, you're set." He sighed.
"Yeah. Anyway, i have some work to do and if Ellis finds me slacking off im as good as dead."
"Who's El-"
"My boss. Robert, if i was cheating on you i wouldn't have called you. I'm not Aileen."
"Yeah, you're not." He sighed. "Come home to me okay?"
"I will." Gaia grinned. "Bye."
"Bye, i love you."
Her heart fluttered. "Love you too."
She clicked the hang up button and continued sweeping, the weight on her chest gone.
Ellen choked back a sob, sliding back into a lying down position. "I could've killed you all!" She whimpered, ignoring what Ellis had said.
"So could Mari. And Gaia. And Conner with his badass sword. But you didn't and that's whats important."
Ellen curled into a ball, choking back vomitus. Her head and body hurt from containing the demon.
"Hey Seth? Maybe you could give her a sedative."
conner slowly tried to get ellen to sit up "sitting up will help keep you from vomiting."
(I gtg)
Ellen sat up slowly, dots swimming through her vision as a migraine pummeled the back of her head. She gagged, pressing a hand to her mouth.
After what felt like forever, Gaia finished cleaning up all the salt. She placed down a jar with "Demon Repellent" on the counter in the kitchen. She wandered around aimlessly until she decided to check on Ellen.
Ellen scrabbled across the bed and hurled over the edge.
"Oh. That's not good." Mariko got down on her knees, scooting next to Ellen and wrapping her up in a hug. "Hey. It's okay. We're both survivors, right?"
Gaia walked in to see Ellen throwing up. "Oh, dear!" She grabbed a bucket from the corner and stuck it under her head. She stroked her head, murmuring soft words. Even though she missed alot of vomit, the mess would be easier this way.
Ellen leaned back against the wall, gasping for breath. "Than-" She cut herself off, leaning over and retching.
"Hush hun. It's okay, calm yourself down." Gaia whispered. "Take your time."
conner handed a bottle of pills to gaia "these will help with the vomiting and the headaches, give two to her when she stops vomiting."
"Thank you Papy." She nodded and took the pills from him. "I'll give em to her. I left some demon repellent in the kitchen, don't throw it away, okay?"
Ellen finally finished vomiting, her breath coming in hicuppy gasps. "I- I think, think I'm done." She gulped.
"Stay here." She stated. She ran off to the kitchen and grabbed a bottle of water. She returned and cracked the cap open. "Here," She gave the water and two pills to Ellen. "take these. These'll help."
(Dirkadir, why'd you delete that?)
Ellen nodded, taking the bottle and pills. "Thanks." She whispered.
"It's okay hun. You should get some rest."
(i deleted it because it was to late)
(My internet connection is really crappy for some reason)
Ellen nodded, leaning back against the side wall. She glanced at Ellis. "Ellis. Why did I- er, the demon try to kill you? It mentioned a sibling or something…"
(notebook is being a u kno wat for me)
Mari patted Ellen's head. "We can talk about that later, over dinner, okay?" Maybe she'd actually come out of her nest for once.
"Good idea Mari." Gaia smiled.
"Thanks." She gave herself a sticker that she kept in her overall pocket and sticked it onto her cheek and sticked another onto Ellen's hand. "It's our medal of bravery?"
