Sighing at the turn of events, she wondered if she should shake Maddox to reality. He did look pretty out of it…

Biting her lip, Koko called out to him: "Maddox?"

Maddox didn't respond. Koko's voice was nearly inaudible to him, and very foggy anyhow. What do my powers even draw on anyways? Is there any way to research magic?

Ferran rolled his eyes and tackled him. "Snap out of it!"

Koko cringed at Ferran's action. Yikes.

Focus came back into Maddox's eyes and he cried out in fear. He struggled against Ferran's hold, panicking.

"No dude it's okay it's just me." Ferran panicked, worried he had accidentally stepped over a boundary. "I just got worried cus you weren't responding I'm sorry…"

Double yikes. Koko stayed out of this one.

Maddox's heart felt like it was beating out of his chest, and it took him a few moments to bring his breathing back under control and figure out what had happened. Frost started forming in his hair and on his face, as it had a tendency to do when he was startled.

Crap did I break him?…. Ferran cringed.
(Two boys with anxiety shouldn't tackle each other)

Maddox's body grew freezing cold and pieces of ice started swirling around them, hitting Ferran. He tried to escape again, unable to control the magic.

Ferran covered his face. Way to mess life up again…
(Please have him snap out of it)

Stop it! How do I turn off the magic?! Maddox shielded his face from the ice. He wasn't stuck in his mind anymore, but anxious because he had no control over his powers.

Koko paled. Maybe she should have gotten involved. "Ferran! Maddox!" She pleaded, running up to the flurry of ice.

"I-I can't stop it! Ferran, ru- ow!" A piece of ice struck Maddox's head.

Ferran scrambled to his feet. "There's gotta be a way to fix this!"

Maddox stood up, the ice still spinning rapidly around himself. It seemed to have disregarded Ferran completely, attacking Maddox no matter how hard he tried to stop it.

Koko's eyes widened in terror. Oh… If she could control her powers, the ice would have stopped already, suspended in the air. Focusing, her only thought while concentrating was: Here goes nothing…

An alarm sounded. Armored guards grabbed Maddox's arms and dragged him off. One held Ferran back as he tried to race after them. "No! Where are they taking him?!"
"Containment."

"H-Hey! Let me go! Help!" Maddox struggled against the guards' grip, terrified. The ice continued beating down on him.

It didn't work. And she would've been to late anyways. "Wait! Please…" Koko ran over to the guards.

They dragged him to the containment room and sealed the door. The lights flicked on.

Luckily, the ice had stopped before they reached the room. Maddox sat in the corner, terrified and confused. What are they going to do to me? I don't wanna die! He hid his face in his arms, trembling.

A voice came over the speakers. "It's okay. We're not gonna hurt you. We just heard there was an…issue with your powers."
