“Plus, we might find something useful,” Avery said with a shrug. She glanced between the three guys, her eyebrows raised slightly. “So… Who’s going first?”

@Mr.Misfit

Avery spoke, and Dylan strode in.

Nothing happened, and internally he was grateful. The others filed in behind him.

Dylan was good as a programmer, but he didn't know hardware. It was very clear that this robot did. All sorts of complex machines were active, lights blinking, and the sound of cooling fans filled the room. And no dust, no grime or dirt. She frequented this constantly.

“Well, this is certainly something. I don’t think I’ve seen this much tech in a room since I visited NEST Labs,” Avery mused, impressed, as she stepped in after Dylan.

@Mr.Misfit

After making absolute sure that nothing was going to kill him, Dylan sized up the machines. Lots of processing power, along with some other dohickeys that looked more like toys than actual equipment. As he surveyed the room, something nagged at the back of his mind, but he couldn't put a finger on it.

"Is it just me or is something missi– oh!" Dylan waved his hand across the room, both indicating and proving his point with light, "There's no terminals anywhere. No monitors."

“So it’s not for security. But it is a robot… Maybe she just had the feed sent to herself?” Avery suggested with a shrug. She walked farther into the room and looked around, keeping an eye on the others as she did so.

"Times like this, I wish I had cell service," Kaz huffed, lips pursed as he looked around at the machines. This type of stuff was more suited for some of his friends who made robots, not him

(Lol.)

Avery hummed her agreement and picked up a small box. It fit in the palm of her hand and looked like it could be made out of steel or a similar metal. There were a few marking on the outside, two to three per side, but none that she recognized. Each one was made up of dots and dashes, though some had a wavy line and an empty circle.

“Anyone know what these symbols are?” she asked, holding it up.

@Mr.Misfit

(Are we all just staring at this cube trying to figure out what to do with it, or is everyone gone?

Just trying to figure out what's happening.)

@Mr.Misfit

(So it reminds me of either brail or a different kind of physical programming. Like that's code written into the sides of the cube. It would make sense, but at that rate we'd have no one to read it.)

@Imperfect_Autumn group

(True… Unless Kaz or Vaughn magically knows how. Lol.
It doesn't have to be anything important, either. I just thought she'd pick something up and be curious about its purpose.)

@Mr.Misfit

(That's probably a better idea. Seems like every little trinket we touch nowadays either makes us or damn near kills us.)

@Mr.Misfit

Dylan held out his hands towards Avery, who tossed the cube to him.

"It reminds me of those old code sheets. Ya know, the punch-out cards that old room-sized computers read? But what would that have to do with a Murder Investigation?"

He tossed it back to Avery.

@Imperfect_Autumn group

Avery hummed as she caught it, cursing herself when she fumbled it a little and almost dropped it. Her cheeks reddened slightly, and she set the cube back down.

"Yeah, I'm sure it's nothing. Anyone else find anything?" she wondered.

@Mr.Misfit

(In case it wasn't obvious before, I really love foxes. And I build things in a professional environment. So Business Fox!)

@Mr.Misfit

(Cat software running on dog hardware. The kitOS ones are really funny to watch.

I'm making a page for Dylan using the history here. I don't know why I didn't earlier, but he'll have a consolidated info page soon enough)

@Imperfect_Autumn group

(Lol. Yes, definitely. They’re so adorable.

Cool! I recently found a new writers app similar to this website, but it has more to do with the actual writing of the story. I literally just thought of a good motivation for Avery using it, so that was awesome!)
