"Hey, hey, it's okay," Kaz said softly, getting to his feet. He sat down next to Vaughn, a look of concern on his face. "You didn't hurt me, Vaughn. And I electrocuted you earlier, so I guess it sort of makes us even."

“I shoved you and you hurt your head,” Vaughn mumbled, not looking at Kaz. He went back to now keeping his hands to himself, not wanting to touch him at the moment.

"Which is a lot less dangerous than having a living power plant sitting right next to you," Kaz insisted softly. "It wasn't your fault. I woke you up while you were having a bad dream. It's not your fault."

“I should have taken my medication, I can’t believe that I forgot,” Vaughn continued, hands clenching into tight fists. If he had taken his medicine, then he wouldn’t have had the terrible night terror.

“It’s okay,” Kaz assured him. “But now that you mention it, I haven’t taken my meds in a month,” he added absently, staring off into space for a moment at the realization

“That can’t be good…” Vaughn mumbled softly, a heavy frown lingering on his lips. He glanced over to Kaz now. Well, more at his lap. He couldn’t bring himself to look Kaz in the eye.

“Eh, not the first time, won’t be the last,” Kaz said with a shrug. “But you shouldn’t be beating yourself up about one little nightmare, okay? It was an honest mistake,” he said softly, resting a hand over one of Vaughn’s reassuringly

“It’s not the nightmare that’s the problem, Kaz,” Vaughn pressed, getting up to pace. “I’ve had plenty of those. But what isn’t okay is that I took it out on you,” he continued.

“You didn’t take it out on me, I just happened to be in the line of fire. You didn’t do it on purpose,” Kaz said softly, a hint of pleading in his tone. He wanted to make Vaughn feel better, he just didn’t know how

Vaughn exhaled heavily, running a hand over his face slowly. He didn’t say anything, just walked over to his bag and dug through it. He sat on the floor and took out a syringe, filling it most of the way with the clear liquid. He tilted his own head to the side and stuck the needle into his throat.

“I’m not a doctor, but should you be taking that stuff right after you woke up?” Kaz asked, a look of concern on his face. He knew Vaughn probably knew what he was doing, he just couldn’t help being worried

“Don’t know,” Vaughn mumbled, removing the needle from his neck after injecting what was in the tube into his system. He sighed softly, staying sat on the floor as he waited for the effects of the meds to kick in.

“Do you…want to lay down on the bed?” Kaz asked softly. He was horrible when it came to trying to console people, but he was trying his hardest for Vaughn

“In a minute maybe,” Vaughn mumbled, crossing his legs. He ran a hand through his hair, trailing his fingers down to rub at the back of his neck.

Kaz sighed, staring down at the floor for a minute. He eventually got up and stumbled over to Vaughn, wincing as pain shot through his ankles. He sat down next to the other, staring down at his hands. “Am I still allowed to hug you?” he asked sheepishly

Vaughn glanced at Kaz again, but not directly at his face. “I guess, just be careful,” he said in a low tone, loosely folding his arms in his lap.

Kaz took that as permission to all but fold himself around Vaughn. It was a little comical considering their height difference, but he was trying. He let his head rest in the crook of Vaughn’s neck, pressing a gentle kiss to where the other had injected himself with the drugs

A soft shiver ran through Vaughn’s body at the feeling of the light kisses that Kaz placed onto his neck. He appreciated the affection, despite the fact that he couldn’t feel it too well. His skin and mind felt fuzzy in general.

“Feeling a little better?” Kaz asked softly, continuing to press a few kisses to Vaughn’s neck. He was determined to make the other feel better, even if he was horrible at this sort of thing

“Just a little bit… The medication helped some,” Vaughn murmured, shifting a bit where he was sitting. He couldn’t move much, though. The medication was making his limbs and nerves feel numb and muted. And the fact that Kaz was gripping onto him.

“That’s good,” Kaz mumbled, shifting a little so he wasn’t gripping Vaughn too tightly. He continued to press kisses to the other’s neck, intent on doing what he could to make Vaughn feel better

Vaughn grunted in response, rubbing at his knees. He stayed completely still, concentrating on the feeling of Kaz’s lips against his neck. “Thank you for trying to make me feel better,” he eventually mumbled.

“Thanks for letting me try,” Kaz said softly, a hand moving to rub gently at Vaughn’s side. He continued to kiss at Vaughn’s neck, occasionally kissing at his collarbone or jaw

Another shiver ran through Vaughn’s body at the kisses. How was Kaz not completely angry at him? He hated to admit that he would be a bit annoyed.

“Is there anything I can do to help a little more? Back rub, pills..?” Kaz asked slowly, trying to think of more ways to make Vaughn feel better. He hated seeing the other upset, and he was determined to help make him feel better

“I should be fine after the medication has worn off, but it’s okay now…” Vaughn murmured softly. He did lean a bit more into Kaz’s touch, even through everything felt fuzzy and detached.

"Well…I'm still gonna try to make you feel good, even after the meds wear off," Kaz murmured, more to himself than to Vaughn. He was determined to show the other that he didn't do anything to hurt Kaz. Even if it took all day, he was going to try

Vaughn gave a soft, slow sigh and stayed still once again. He did fidget with his fingers though, picking at his nails every once in a while. His head stayed tilted down so he could look towards the floor.

Kaz sat there in silence for a moment, rubbing at Vaughn's sides gently as he stared down at the floor as well. "You…wanna lay down on the bed so I can give you a back rub or something?" he eventually asked, the silence growing a little too awkward for his tastes

Vaughn didn’t respond for a moment, but he soon enough gave a hesitant nod. He used the bed to help himself stand, feeling a tad shaky as he climbed onto the bed. He laid down on his stomach, his arms hugging onto a pillow.
