Lillian laughed as she slipped her shirt on. It felt weird without a bra. The voice started saying how easy it would be for someone to rape her like this. How easy it would be to grope her. She shook her head.
Lillian laughed as she slipped her shirt on. It felt weird without a bra. The voice started saying how easy it would be for someone to rape her like this. How easy it would be to grope her. She shook her head.
“You ready then?” he said pulling a T-shirt over his head.
Lillian nodded and reached for Darren's hand, "Yeah."
He grabbed her hand and pulled her toward him and kissed her. “Let’s go then,”
Lillian smiled and kissed him, "Okay."
They walked down the stairs and got into the car. The pulled up in front of the hospital and Darren got out eagerly.
Lillian got out a lot slower than Darren. Her legs were shaking.
Darren stopped and waited for Lillian with an extended hand.
Lillian took his hand shot him a grateful smile. She looked towards the hospital with a brave face.
Darren winked at her and walked into the hospital where he went to the front desk and had a fight about how only family could visit. He explained that Lillian was her daughter and they were led straight to the room.
Lillian was internally thinking about how bad of an idea this was. Especially as they neared the room. They entered to see Lillian's mother with bandage's across her face, wide awake, glaring at Darren. She hissed, "You."
Darren stepped all the way into the room, “Hey Mrs. Phoenix, came to see how you were doing.” He said kindly.
"I'm fine no thanks to you or the bitch," She was being hostile. Her position showed that she was ready to leap at either of them. Mainly Lillian.
Lillian backed up so she was standing behind Darren. The voice called her a coward.
Darren stood bravely, “I wan to personally apologize to you for what happ- what I did,” he said taking responsibility.
Lillian's mother raised an eyebrow and she leaned back on the bed, "Go on."
Darren stepped closer, “My condition makes me suffer from random anger and you were just unlucky enough to be the victim. I need you to know how bad I feel and if you need anything or want be to pay the hospital bill, I’m here,”
Lillian's mother grinned, "Well since you offered… I would love it if you paid my bill."
Darren nodded. He expected her to do that. “How are feeling?” He asked walking toward the bed.
Lillian's mother tilted her back and forth, "So-So. I know what would make me feel even better. If you would allow me." She grinned at Darren as her eyes moved to Lillian.
Lillian froze. She knew exactly what she wanted.
“Depends on your request, what do you want?” He asked standing next to the bed.
Mrs. Phoenix, Kathryn, looked directly at Lillian, "Nothing much. I need to vent some anger."
Lillian tried not to shake. Show any emotion at all, but she failed. Miserably. She was shaking to her core as the voice told her to walk towards her mother.
Darren backed up to stand by Lillian, “As long as you don’t touch her, I see no problem.”
Lillian looked to Darren. Utter disbelief filled her eyes. No matter what her mother said, she was bound to break that promise.
Kathryn grinned and beckoned Lillian to come closer, "I promise."
Lillian slowly took a step towards her mother.
Darren went with Lillian, holding her hand.
Lillian had a death grip on Darren's hand as she approached her mother. At first it was just her shouting at Lillian. Things like 'GIVE UP. SLUT. WHORE. DIE BITCH. YOU DID THIS TO ME'. Lillian flinched at every word said. Suddenly her mother raised her hand and slapped Lillian across the face.
Darren pulled Lillian away and hugged her tightly. “Thank you for letting me help Mrs. Phoenix. It’s getting late so I think we’re gonna get going.”
Kathryn scowled, "Fine. I'll see you later bitch."
She spat out the last word and Lillian flinched. She was tearing up.
Darren took Lillian out, the moment the exited the room Darren rubbed her face with a hand and kissed softly. “I’m sorry, this is my fault,”
Lillian said nothing at first. She finally said, "I-It's fine. I-I probably deserved it."
“Hey, woah. No. You don’t derserve that baby.” He pulled her into a hug. “Don’t think that.”
