"I literally gave you a minifridge for this! Just why?"

"I stole a minifridge from my workplace to avoid this. Dude. Seriously, why?"

"It's an experiment!" Sherlock snapped, jumping off of the couch and striding towards her.

"I. Stole. A. Mini. Fridge. For. You."

"And I persuaded Lestrade that you hadn't," Sherlock replied, towering over Karen with his hands stuffed in his robe pockets.

"Yeah, but you could at least use it."

"I DO!"

"Oh yes, note the head in the fridge. Obviously you use it. Tea?"

Sherlock shrugged, turning to go back to his beloved couch. "Yes. Two sugars."

"The kettle's on the stove." she said. "I've been taking lessons from Mrs. Hudson."

Sherlock plopped into the couch and put his hands up in the praying position at his chin. "I have noticed you spending time with her. You even walk like her now. MRS. HUDSON!!!!!"

Mrs Hudson peeked her head in. "Not your housekeeper." she said, exiting. Karen burst into laughter at this, wheezing at the dumbfounded look on her flatmates face.

His confusion turned into a pout, and he turned his back to Karen, curling into a little ball. "Go away, I need to go to my mind palace."

"Aw, you're sad you were rejected. How cute." she said, patting his head playfully.

"I am not cute" he spat.

"Yes you are. You're like a child, honestly."

"That was incredibly rude of you."

"You're still cute. And seeing as you're a depressed and bored sociopath, we need to find you a case."

Sherlock jumped up so fast that Karen backpedalled into the coffee table. "I need a case!" he snapped, stepping over to the window.

"That's what I said. Seriously, call your brother if Lestrade doesn't have a new case."

"Mycroft? No."

"You need to accept his help sometimes. He's a genius, and one of the few men I can actually tolerate. Give him a chance."

"I said, NO."

"Sherlock. I said if Lestrade doesn't have a case, which he probably does."

There was a rap on the door, followed by Mrs. Hudson. "Woo-oo! Sherlock, dearie, there's someone at the door for you." Karen saw Sherlock's eyes light up in a devilish sense of joy.

"See, you're not going to die of boredom after all!"

"Oh, hush, Karen. It's John, and he has good news."

"Yes, John. Go talk to him, I dunno."

John bounded up the stairs, eyes bloodshot and face haggard. "SHERLOCK HOLMES!!!!!" he yelled, diving at the consulting detective's neck.

Karen watched to see what John would do next. "Okay, if he tries to kill you I have no intention of interfering seeing as you probably deserve it."
