Lillian nodded into his chest, she was slightly. A few shards at cut her legs and they stung. Her body was still shaking, "Y-yeah. Let's go before she comes b-back."

Darren nodded and grabbed Lillian's hand continuing back up the stairs. He looked around the corner before sneaking out the door.

Lillian let out a sigh of relief as they left the house. The tears she had been holding in started slipping down her face and she collapsed to the ground. She hissed in pain and looked down at her slightly bloody legs.

Darren saw her legs, "I have a first aid kit in the car, do you need it?" he asked kneeling down. He held Lillian's face in one hand and wiped her tear with his thumb.

Lillian nodded. She pushed her face against his hand, "Y-yeah."

Darren kissed a tear running down the side of Lillian's nose before standing up to get the kit from his trunk. He came back and carefully as possible removed glass from her legs and bandaged them.

Lillian smiled at him as the tears continued to flow. She said softly, "Thank you."

"I'm sorry she got you. I tried, I really did." Darren said packing up the kit.

Lillian shook her head, "I know. Are you hurt?"

"No," Darren lied avoiding Lillian's gaze.

Lillian sighed, "Please. You helped me, let me help you."

"I'm okay," He smiled at Lillian despite the blood that had dripped from his leg. It's not even that much… I'll be fine

Lillian noticed the blood on his leg, "Your leg's bleeding."

"I know, It'll be fine," He said wiping it with his hand. "See,"

Lillian grabbed the bandages. She looked around to see if there was any glass before carefully removing it. Despite Darren's protest she wrapped up the cut and looked up at him smiling, "There."

Darren sighed, "It was fine, but thanks."

Lillian looked down, "It was my fault. At least it's better now."

"It's not you're fault, it's hers." He said standing up and helping Lillian to her feet.

Lillian was a bit wobbly from the whole experience. She looked to Darren, "Do we have to go to school right now?"

"No," Darren laughed, "There is a whole town waiting for us if we skip."

Lillian smiled. She probably should go, but her mind was not in a good place at the moment, "Well, then let's see what it has to offer!"

Darren smiled and opened the car door for Lillian, "After you m'lady"

Lillian smiled and got into the car, "Why thank you kind sir."

Darren let out a loud laugh as he circled around getting into the car and revving the engine loudly. "Let us go then. Onward mighty steed!"

Lillian laughed, "Let us," she turned to the house and flipped it off while shouting, "FUCK OFF YA OLD HAG!"

She turned back to Darren, "I have no idea what just came over me to do that."

Darren chuckled, "I hope she heard you, that's what she gets."

He sped away without looking back.

Lillian smiled and curled up into a ball on the seat, "So where to my knight in shining armor?"
