Marco walked into his new school, butterflies in his stomach. Marco looked at his schedule which had his classes as well as his locker number. He found his locker after a while and put his things in it. Marco grabbed his English textbook, his pencil bag, and his notebook before trying to find the English classroom.
Maddie walked down the crowded halls of her school, looking for her locker. She passed by Kelly and Paige and smiled to herself. After finally finding her locker, she got her supplies and headed to English. To her surprise, she found Kelly and Paige sitting down, chatting about summer break. She sat down near the window and put in the earbuds.
Marco wandered down the halls before finding the right class. Marco walked into the classroom and found a seat in the back to sit in. He looked around at the students and waited for class to start.
Maddie noticed one student, in particular, looked nervous (Talking about Marco). She felt sympathy for him, as she knew how nerve-wracking it was to be in a room full of strangers. Yet, life prevails, and there wasn't much you could do about that situation.
Seyg slipped on his headphones as he walked into one of the most dreaded places: high school. He attempted to take in his surroundings: the crowded hallways, the students yelling, and the backpacks that weighed the students to the floor. Seyg glanced at his schedule and strolled to his locker, music blasted in his ears. He snatched the English book from his locker and made his way over to English.
Lee sprinted down the hall to her locker, dodging around the various groups in the hall. She was going to be late for English. She skidded to a halt in front of her locker and quick opened it and grabbed her books before sprinting off again, heading for the classroom.
Maddie stared at the entrance as all the students piled in. She wondered how they all felt, how nervous they were- or how confident. She noticed people who seemed very confident in themselves and envied them.
"So, where's Venus? Is it true that she got a boyfriend this summer?" Kelly asked eagerly.
Paige's expression dropped. "Yeah…"
"What's wrong? Why isn't she here, I wanted to ask her about him."
"She… transferred schools to be with him…" Paige bit her lip.
Kelly's jaw dropped. Venus? Switch schools because of a boy?! "What?!" Kelly exclaimed, louder than she originally than she intended.

Marco opened his notebook and started to doodle walruses, not well drawn walruses, but walruses nonetheless. Marco grinned and made walrus unicorns, ‘cause why not? Then he doodled some unicorn fish, unicorn birds, unicorn ants. Soon enough, his notebook was filled with different unicorn species.

Maddie turned her music up, adjusted her earbuds, and gazed at nature outside.
Kelly blushed and lowered her volume, but not her intensity. "What?!"
Paige nodded. "She transferred and-"
"Wait, why didn't she tell me? She told you…"
Maddie heard a loud shout from a student. She looked over and took out her earbuds. Staring around the room, Kelly's shocked expression caught her eye. She wasn't surprised it was Kelly out of all people. She began eavesdropping, even though she knew it wasn't a good choice.
When Seyg sat down in his seat, he picked up his pencil and opened a thick, black leather book. Lyrics started to flow from his mind onto the worn paper, he turned his music up and kept writing until he felt a tap on his shoulder. The teacher was calling attendance and he wasn't paying attention. Great way to start the year.

Harley walked to her class and sat at the very back and started thinking of lyrics. Raising her hand when the teacher called her, she continued writing.

"I don't know why she didn't tell you…" Paige trailed off.
"Kelly! Lohss!"
"Here!" Kelly yelled, hearing the teacher for the first time. The teacher frowned in her direction before continuing.
"When did you find out?" Kelly asked.
"Paige Turner?"
"Here!" Paige called, lowering her voice to speak to Kelly again. "Just a couple days ago, don't be mad."
"I'm not," Kelly said bluntly, getting out her phone to text Venus.
After Maddie's name was called, she quietly sneaked over to Marco and Lee, who happened to be sitting near each other. "Listen, I'm not usually this social, so you better make the most of this limited time offer. I'm Maddie Klia." She stated, holding her hands out to shake.
Harley walked to her class and sat at the very back and started thinking of lyrics. Raising her hand when the teacher called her, she continued writing. “HARLEY! “ the teacher yelled “Wha- Aah!” She fell out of her chair. “What do you want?” She asked brushing herself off.
“The answer to question 14. If you hadn’t been so busy not doing your work—“
“X equals 33.452.” She replied “I was doing some writing. I finished 10 minutes ago.” She replied.
(It's the first day of school and they're all in English class on the first day of school and the teacher is taking attendance please.)
Marco shook Maddie’s hand and flipped to an empty page. He wrote, Hi, Maddie! I’m Marco Nores! :) and showed it to the girl.
Maddie smiled, and read the note. She titled her head, asking, "I'm sorry if this is offensive, but are you mute or something?"

Seyg peered over at the girl sitting next to him, Kelly. He stopped writing his lyrics and opened a new page; he wrote, 'Hey Kelly, I'm Seyg' and passed it over to her. The teacher was completely oblivious.
Marco nodded. He wrote, Don’t worry, it’s not offensive at all!
KELLY: You TRANSFERRED SCHOOLS AND DIDN'T TELL ME?!??!
VENUS: Woah, sorry! Did Paige tell you?
KELLY: Yes
VENUS: O.o
KELLY: Why didn't u tell me?!
VENUS: Sorry, gtg
KELLY: Venus, don't you DARE leave!

Maddie read the note and giggled quietly. "Well, that's good." She said softly, still smiling.
