"There are plants that don't need sunlight?" Thorn looked at her curiously. The nurses refused to give her any gardening books. 'Don't want you getting silly ideas dearie!'
"Mine survived without sunlight for years," Lana said with a shrug. "I'm not a plant expert, but yeah."
(Can we say Lana's been drawing this whole time? Because i actually drew Thorn and it looks kinda cool…)
(Nvm my phone's dead so i can't take a picture ignore that)
"Hey, I'm already half-dead." Luka crossed his legs and leaned forward, picking up the rose from the center of the table.
"Half-dead? Already?" Axel questioned, leaning back into his wheelchair as he ignored the stares the two received.
Luka snorted, twirling the rose in his hands. "Yeah, I'm a zombie, couldn't you tell?"
"Sadly, no." Axel sighed, tugging on his sweatpants as he studied Luka intently. "You seem like a fairly normal human being to me."
"So I've fooled you pretty well." He plucked a petal off of the rose and watched it twirl through the air and fall onto the table.
"Mhm," Axel nodded, a crooked smile tilting one corner of his lips upwards as he continued to look at Luka.
He tore off two petals and put the rose above his head so the petals' descent would last longer. The bright red petals fell to the white tablecloth and Luka pulled off another one.
"So, do you usually rip petals off of roses. . .?" Axel asked, watching Luka as he leaned forward to watch the petals fall. He tugged his hoodie closer to his body, a small yawn escaping his lip as he suddenly felt tired.
"What? Oh. I'm ripping petals off of roses." He set the rose down and blushed. "Not usually. I um, I just. . . do things to keep myself awake. Not that you aren't interesting! I think you're the most interesting person ever! No, I just, I'm weird."

(Lol)
Thorn looked at her eyes wide, “Do you think roses could do that? They’re my favorite plant.”
River got up “I guess I’ll se you guys later!” She sigjed
"You're telling me. They pumped me so full of paralytics when I got here that when I could finally move I had to use an entire bottle of artificial tears. You know, they know your eyes stay open when you're paralyzed, so you'd think they'd have the kindness to close them for a guy," Kaz grumbled, glaring at the therapist as he walked around
Vaughn’s nose scrunched up at that. “Goddamn, that’s rough,” he murmured, eyes flicking up to the therapist. “But he has to know that this isn’t going to help most of the people here. Sure, it depends on what they have got going on up in their head, but chatting about your issues sure as hell won’t make them go away.”
"Accurate," Kaz grumbled, dull grey eyes flecked with a little more violet than usual watching the therapist go around. "Hey, how about we bail before he can ask us the usual sob story questions? Because I refuse to have to repeat that shit again," he said, already moving to stand up
"What? Oh. I'm ripping petals off of roses." He set the rose down and blushed. "Not usually. I um, I just. . . do things to keep myself awake. Not that you aren't interesting! I think you're the most interesting person ever! No, I just, I'm weird."
A small laugh escaped Axel's lips as he watched Luka. "You aren't weird. Just. . . unique." He answered, tapping his fingers on the edge of the table out of habit.
“I’m down for that,” Vaughn answered, pushing to his feet. If anything, he would have either snapped at the therapist to not address him or to pass from answering any questions. He didn’t trust a smiling stranger with his problems.
“Maybe we could sneak out on my bike. They let me have it because they know I’d never wreck it, so we could probably bail and go get burgers or something.” As he spoke, Kaz realized slowly he had barely eaten since the attempt, which had been almost a week ago
“Maybe, I doubt they’d let me out easily. I barely ever go out, and when I do, they always have some asshole with a gun following me because I’m ‘a danger to myself and others’,” Vaughn said, frowning heavily as he spoke. He stuffed his hands into the pockets of his suit jacket, glancing around the room.
Kaz grinned. “Watch this, they eat this shit up,” he said before walking over to the nearby office. He put on his most convincingly sweet smile as he started talking to one of the people there. “Hey, mind if I take my buddy Vaughn out for a spin on my motorcycle? He loves them, and he’s never gotten to ride one before,” he said, resisting the urge to cringe again how happy his own tone sounded. The person smiled at him before looking at Vaughn.
“Second day here and you’re already making friends? That’s a wonderful improvement, Kaz. But sure, you can take Vaughn on your bike, just be sure to be back by curfew.” Kaz nodded, grinning at Vaughn as he walked back over to him
“That was insane. How the hell did you get them to agree to that?” Vaughn asked, seeming genuinely surprised. If he had asked, they would have laughed in his face and told him to go back to his room.
"Because my aunt and uncle are rich assholes number one, and number two, if you act like you're happy and all sunshine and rainbows and shit, they automatically do anything you say. It's how I wormed my way into the military without having to do a psych exam," Kaz said, pleased with himself that he had actually got that to work. He began to walk towards the doors, grinning smugly as he did so
Vaughn followed after Kaz, brow furrowed. “I don’t think I could be that happy around people I don’t know no matter how hard I tried,” he said, keeping his head lowered, which caused longer strands of hair to fall across his face.
"I also may or may not have slept with the receptionist," Kaz admitted. He usually would have been a little ashamed to admit his problem with sleeping around, but at this point he didn't particularly care. It had helped him get his way for once, so how much lower could he go? Maybe if he got his therapist drunk or something he'd get out of this hellhole sooner. He walked to the door, opening it and holding it open for Vaughn
“What?! You’ve got to be joking,” Vaughn said, now frowning at Kaz as he stepped outside. He squinted at the brightness, rubbing at his eyes. He couldn’t understand the point of one night stands. Doing something so intimate with a stranger just sounded sickening and terrible to him.
"Hey, I only did it twice this time. And I dated him for a week, so that's a little better than normal," Kaz huffed, squinting through the sunlight. He fumbled with his pockets, taking a moment to fish his keys out of his pocket as he walked over to where his dull red, beat up 1985 Honda Rebel sat leaning against a fence
“Did you even know the guy before that? Or- hold on, let me guess- you met him at the bar and got the immediate idea to hook up?” Vaughn questioned further, frown not faltering. He isn’t know why he was suddenly feeling so protective and possessive over Kaz continuing to have one night stands.
"As most of my relationships go, no, I didn't know him before, and yes, I was wasted off my ass and he was hot," Kaz answered. He frowned lightly. "Since when do you care? It's not like I'm hurting you any, unless you wanna get with this too," he said, his frown turning to a teasing smile as they reached the bike
(I made another hospital type thing called The Testing if anyone wants to join)

Thorn looked at her eyes wide, “Do you think roses could do that? They’re my favorite plant.”
"I don't know." She shrugged. "Maybe. Doesn't hurt to try, does it?"
"What? Oh. I'm ripping petals off of roses." He set the rose down and blushed. "Not usually. I um, I just. . . do things to keep myself awake. Not that you aren't interesting! I think you're the most interesting person ever! No, I just, I'm weird."

Luka licked his dry lips. "Thanks Axel. Do you want me to pay? I'll pay for the food." He offered, pushing the rose further away from him.
Thorn smiled, "It really doesn't. Do you think you could get me a plant?"
