"Well, we're all going home at dawn so if you aren't I don't know what you're going to do." Amber turns duchess around and they ride back to camp.

"Then why did we even come here? What's the point of going on an awesome quest if we aren't actually going anywhere?"

"You don't always need to have a destination. I just wanted to show what's like actually protecting people."

"No, no, no, no, no. That's not what type of quest this was. We were supposed to go somewhere with meaning, save the world, and save a bunch of people's lives, and- and- just, not," Kira looked around at the people sleeping. "This. Plus, we didn't 'protect' anyone."

Amber shook her head and sat down. Tears welled up in her eyes and she blinked them away rapidly. "I'm so sorry. I probably ruined your life and your friendships. It's my fault. I forced these guys to come along."

"What? Why are you crying? You didn't do anything. Besides, you didn't 'force' anyone to do anything. These people came here of their own free will. If they didn't want to be here, they would already be long gone."

Amber hiccups slightly and rubs her eyes. "Really? You said so yourself it was nothing like you expected. Why are you still here anyway?"

"I am still here because it's too late to turn back now. I originally came because I didn't know what to do. You caught me by surprise. You wanted me to come, so I came." With that, Kira laid back down on her half of the clearing and went to sleep.

When the sun rose Michael was nowhere to be seen

(K. I just had an intruder drill at school.

When Kira woke up, Michael was gone. She tip toed over to Amber and woke her up. "Pst. Amber. Amber. Michael is gone."
